Texas Tech will be appealing the NCAA’s ruling. School President Lawrence Schovanec said in a letter today: “We believe that given the facts and the context of Brendan’s case, the NCAA’s ruling should be reversed or modified. As a generation of college athletes face the legalization and rapid proliferation of sports betting in our country, gambling addiction is rising to the point of epidemic among college aged men in particular.”

Sources: The NCAA has denied Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby’s request for reinstatement for eligibility for the 2026 season. Sorsby has completed his 35-day in-patient rehab for his gambling addiction at Algamus in Goodyear, Arizona.

The Iowa basketball staff has offered the son of former Hawkeye great and 13-year NBA veteran, Reggie Evans. RJ Evans is a 6-foot-5 small forward in the class of 2029 and has quickly become one of the better prospects in the country.

"He's got size, is long, extremely athletic, but what separates him is the level of toughness, competitiveness and confidence he plays with on the court. Fran McCaffery’s wife heckled Keith Murphy while he emceed a Coaches vs. Cancer event and then Fran demanded Murph not emcee going forward or he wouldn’t attend. A family struck by cancer bullying the emcee of a fundraiser to fight cancer. Trash, absolute trash.
