Realizing there's very little distance between haxcms theme system and the vast majority of WP blog themes: - next / prev arrow - RSS - scroll to top - header - banner / glossy image of some kind While you DL WP "themes" which are 99% the same overlapping functionality, by meeting these core capabilities it's how it takes minutes to develop new themes. Imagine in WP there's a bunch of css + html + PHP to be assumed to be 'next button with title'. In HAXcms it's this screen shot, copy and pasted in the theme template + some CSS variables to make it look slightly different between themes, but it's functionally the same. Imagine you could write code to build a WP theme like "" and you get the footer or "" and you get it, then style with CSS variables and it looks like anything you want. That's what we've created, and in 2024 you'll start hearing (and seeing) more of what and who it empowers as mild investment in themes via CSS reverse engineering brings us new designs for the platform in hours instead of weeks. Because our 99% of code does overlap, and unlike copy-pasta-div-itis, it literally is overlapping for faster time to deliver designs and more efficient usage of resources in getting the next thing there, because it's the same as the last thing, and the next thing.

code made in the video: github.com/elmsln/lrnwebc… This video is also a precursor to the building of a theme for @HAXTheWeb that meets these criteria which students in my 256 class will help forge a path toward by reverse engineering some additional bricks from the style guide.

Building the polaris-story-card element youtube.com/watch?v=Ilw51g… In this video I reverse engineer a #webcomponent by analyzing the psu.edu website. Our office commissioned a "course style guide" ~10 years ago to solve similar problems in design inconsistency.

just another success story from HAX7. Expecting a lot more as word starts to get out about what we've done here. This saved hours if not days of copy and paste migration for skilled staff who now can focus efforts on high quality course production instead! #NGDLE is real

"I successfully imported everything! (Love the confetti pop at the end of setup)" - just had an instructor use the Notion import button to ingest a Notion .md space and convert it into a @HAXTheWeb space. As lead, here's how you build complex integrations.. without..

@readywriting on all the socials ALL OF THEM
All too often, DH and Ed tech don’t really talk to each other. So I’m flagging this for my DH friends because I think it could be a game-changer #ach2023

If I may play off a few convos from #reclaimopen that I've reflected on.. We talk.. a lot. We "preach to the choir" as was a refrain of the event. We've gotten great at policy action, forming groups, taking the message back home... but we need to build tech..
