@EM203EWing @ShreyaShah22 I would love to hear @ShreyaShah22 ‘s perspective on this! I believe the lifestyles and habits children develop at a young age greatly influence their health for the rest of their lives.

Hi there @ShreyaShah22 ! I'm currently studying at Wilfrid Laurier University, and I'm looking into the issue of sedentary lifestyles for children. What do you think are the impacts of the sedentary lifestyles that children have on their overall health?

@EM203EWing These stats are shocking! 39% of adults were overweight 7 years ago, imagine what those numbers are now.

To help limit air pollution and become less dependant on the oil industry we need to invest in electric options such as electric public transit in large cities. #EM203Robin

Hey @HWCDSB, now that school and life are returning to somewhat normal, how will the school board ensure the expectations of students go back to normal? In the extreme COVID era, exams were cancelled and other exemptions were given. When will we start challenging students again?

To repair the damage done to education, we need to start with hiring and motivating strong authorities in schools. #EM203Robin

Repairing the damage done to education starts with training authoritative figures to be strong. Through an appropriate reward system, principals and other school staff will be motivated to stand by their decisions when they are being questioned by parents or students. #EM203Robin

De-streaming eliminates opportunities for students of all academic levels. By separating into groups based on subject proficiency, every student's needs can be met. #EM203Robin #EM203Research

I was a gifty, and I totally agree. I would have dropped out if school very early from boredom if it were not for the challenges I was given to keep me learning. De-streaming education waters down the learning experience for everyone. theglobeandmail.com/opinion/articl…

Since no one asked for it, blogger KGray gives her view as a teacher on de-streaming high school courses in "The Fallacy of De-streaming as a Bandaid for Education in Ontario", and I couldn't agree more. #EM203Research teacherevolution.me/2018/02/21/the…

My EM 203 course at Laurier is unlike any course I have taken before. It is super interactive and has allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of how I learn in a digital world. The course takes a creative approach to learning and I can’t wait to see what’s next! #EM203Robin

@jared_wilke I'd have to agree with you, Jared. Which strategy did you find most effective for you?
English

The first three weeks of EM203 have been enjoyable and expanded my thinking around the action of learning and the various strategies that are most effective for each learner. Looking forward to what is upcoming. #EM203Robin

@TravisBraine I'm also a huge fan of learning by doing. It's the best way to remember the knowledge gained, and gives you the experience of trying it yourself! I myself am not sure how it would be more beneficial to learn any other way.

During my co-op term I have enrolled in the course "Learning in 280 Characters or Less". It poses the opportunity to understand different learning styles and approaches. This week I tested my learning by doing while coding a website! Thank goodness for the internet. #EM203Robin

@Adamo91702283 Very true...As long as our multitasking doesn't slow us down!

@EM203SConnolly I also learn best by doing, Sean! The hands-on approach really solidifies what we are learning.
English

The first 3 weeks of this course have been amazing! One particularly relevant lesson that I learned is that "learning by doing" is the teaching method that fits me the best. #EM203Robin

@EM203RGabriele Interesting choice of words, Ryan! We really do choose how we learn.

Of the many concepts covered within the first 2 weeks of EM203, one that is particularly relevant and something we students have been adapting to for a while is how to learn in a digital age. Constructivism helped strengthen my understanding of this topic. #EM203Robin

Thanks to modern technology, provincial lockdowns don't stop you from learning! In my "280 Characters or Less" course at Laurier, I've been introduced to how one learns in a digital age, my chosen method of learning, and how to tango. If you know, you know. #EM203Robin
