Why can't these European players be less likable? Seems like they would be great to hang out with. @GolfChannel

@MatthewCappucci Welcome to Kansas Matt. Im just south west of KC. No offense but I hope you are nowhere near me :) Stay safe sir. Just a note. You and Kyle Weatherman are the only reason I have the MyRadar app. There are a million Wx apps but you guys gave me a reason to pick this one. \,,/

We have a conditional risk of strong tornadoes across the central and southern Plains today. Literally “partly sunny with a chance of strong tornadoes.” This is what a cap setup is like. Let’s talk about it:

For non-weather folks, it's a typo – 500 millibars rather than 500 mph. The latter would be impossible for planet Earth.

@MyRadarWX Great post. Very relevant to todays weather and a bit of CAP education. Love it. CAP, CAPE, RFD... all the terms I know what they mean but don't really understand. Like the skew-t slant-p. Yikes.

It's because of something called the cap. We have an EXTREME tornado parameter – the scale is basically maxed out, meaning that IF a storm forms, it can produce strong tornadoes very efficiently. BUT we also have a strong cap, or lid of warm air about a mile above the ground. That cap will suppress storm growth all day long, trapping the juiced-up surface air near the ground and not letting it rise. If the cap wins, we get no storms. If the cap breaks, however, all that pent-up instability, or fuel, is released explosively – just as steam rises in a plume when you lift the lid off a pot of boiling water. Weather models struggle to simulate setups like this. If storms form, they will do so near Interstate 35 around 7 or 8 p.m. They'll crop up along a "dryline," or the leading edge of bone-dry air from the Desert Southwest as it impinges on Gulf moisture to the east. Will the moisture arrive in time ahead of the dryline? Will storms sprout? We don't know yet. But IF a storm gets going, it may become very severe with tornadoes, destructive hail and damaging winds. An overnight squall line in Kansas may also form along a cold front, producing gusty to locally damaging straight-line winds.

Mostly sunny and nice with the chance of a strong tornado across the Central/Southern Plains today. Yes, really. We'll have a forecast by @MatthewCappucci out soon, but for now, let's discuss...

@TGL love Matt Barrie but y'all need some golf specialists on the broadcast. Matt and Marty, great as they are, are asking some silly/awkward questions. How about getting someone like @frank_nobilo on the mic.

@TGL @frank_nobilo That would be great too Cheryl. I'm a Nobilo guy but the Immelmans are great as well. I think adding that golf analyst perspective would be a great addition.

@TGL when will y'all bring in someone like @frank_nobilo to commentare with Matt Barrie. Love Mattie B but having a player dissecting swings and mental stuff would add a lot.

It is so hard to know looking at the radar how much more rain will get. Looks good one minute and then looks like will get more rain.
