Principales problemas de la NASA: -Tener un aterrizador lunar listo -Cadencia del SLS -Un inodoro
Ryan Caton@dpoddolphinpro

The toilet broke again. Someone call the space plumber. Mission Control Houston believes that a frozen vent is to blame, and have oriented Integrity so that the sun will warm this vent & melt the blockage. This is not diminishing the Artemis II crew's views of Earth however. Commander @astro_Reid Wiseman: "It's just a truly remarkable sight". When the toilet is out-of-action, the crew can make use of Collapsible Contingency Urinals (CCUs).

@13ericralph31 @deltaIV9250 Yeah, the same thing happened with F9 in 2016. It took them just over a year to repair SLC-40, but they were flying again in 4 months thanks to Vandenberg and LC-39A

This certainly validates SpaceX's odd decision to build multiple Starship launch sites (Pad 1 rework, 39A, LC-37) in parallel well before Starship is remotely operational. A similar event at Pad 2 might only delay testing by a few months thanks to 39A being nearly complete.

Just an interesting note. The fireball engulfed and set things on fire as far as 400 meters from the pad. Imagine if an equivalent (or, more likely, an even greater) explosion occurred at Starbase. That'd set the entire launch complex on fire and engulf a significant amount of land in the surrounding blast

best thing is there payload was not on the vehicle at the time, so those LEO sats could probably be reasigned to Ariane 6 or Atlas

The Amos-6 Falcon 9 pad explosion was 10 years ago. SpaceX returned to flight within four months. I think it’ll be far longer than that before we see New Glenn take to the skies.

Is there a reason they have done nothing with the launch tower and launch mount yet? I feel like they were out there right away at pad 1?

Starship launch pads and cadence implications: Starting with confirmed: Texas: OLP-1 & 2 Florida: LC-39A SLC-37A&B Louisiana: Pecan Island (at least 1) All but certain: At least one, probably several California pads. Did I miss any? With only counting 1 california pad that is 7 pads we know of coming online. With a very unambitious launch cadence of once every 2 weeks, that is enough for 182 Starship flights per year. Once a week pad cadence gets you a launch every single day. With Falcon 9's SLC-40 2025 cadence you get 756 launches per year, or twice a day.
