🚨A UK school has CANCELLED it’s Easter celebrations so they can hold “Refugee week” instead 🇬🇧 Norwood primary has CANCELLED the Easter celebrations they had planned “in the spirit of inclusivity and diverse religious beliefs” They are completley erasing our culture

Just playing with this fabric…. Unfortunately it has a printing mistake that runs through it but hopefully isn’t too noticeable. I kept the design simple and it has a great retro feel …. I added an inverted pleat in the back for a sculptural feel, and it works well, I think!

@cmgarner_garner I’ve got an embroidery machine…. I need to check that one out! I use a sewing gauge and even mark with thread; generally my machine does lovely stuff, and of course I always practice first, but sometimes it just goes wrong!!!

@heatherjacks9 Buttonholes can be tricky. I usually make a mockup of the platen and I use an expanding sewing gauge to mark the platen. Another way is if you have an embroidery machine you can download buttonholes, these are fabulous.

Only the sleeves to go, (and the buttonholes, which I hate doing!) but I can’t decide what style….. this might take some time😂😂

I’ve had the fabric for years….and I think it makes a great waistcoat. Only the buttons left to do. And no, I didn’t forget the pockets….. he didn’t want any!

@sequinnedsheep It’s usually an old needle. You should change your needle every couple of projects, and if it’s really fine fabric, ALWAYS use a new needle

Anyone who knows anything about sewing machines know why mine is doing this? I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've rethreaded the machine and tried changing the tension #sewing #sewingmachine #help #crafts #sewers #sewingbee

So this is going to be the cuff of the sleeve of the jacket I’m making…… really fun if you like a bit of topstitching!

Found this gorgeous fabric in my stash…… now seeing and there’s a lot of seam binding going on, handmade with silk taffeta…
