Question: if you are invited to someone’s house for dinner would you consider garden flowers in a jam jar like this an acceptable small gift? My host says don’t bring wine or food, I don’t like shop flowers, I can’t bear being empty handed…

I woke up and still felt overwhelmed. I decided not go to church to help out incase I have a meltdown and then it's a struggle to get home. I think I have made the right decision. I've just been for a walk and saw no Dogs. Definitely feeling off. I have my injection tomorrow.

@SGV_UK Oh wow, David Suchet! I didn't know he had narrated the Bible! I love the New World Translation on jw.org. it's very easy to read. I'm really glad you have a translation that you enjoy and that you find comfort from it

Felt overwhelmed so I have been hugging Snoopy while listening to the Gospel of Mark and Luke. It's helped a little bit.

@ThePOTSPostman I've found Vitamin B12 seems to really help me. I think i must have been quite low on it. I have patches but was wearing them quite patchily (pun intended) as i kept forgetting. I've been trying to wear one every day for a few weeks and it's definitely helping

@MrPitbull07 It gets crazier: ants here in Thailand brought sand from 2 yards away to bridge the glue on my roachtrap to get to the piece of pastry, the roaches and the little gecko that came for the roaches earlier...on the picture that is already a skeleton after 1 night...

One morning while camping, I noticed several dozen ants had fallen into a five-liter bottle of water left open overnight. They writhed in the clear water, and I thought they were drowning each other to survive. The thought repulsed me, and I turned away. Two hours later, curiosity made me look again — and I was stunned. The ants had formed a living island, a pyramid. Some supported others from below, taking turns submerging and then coming up to rest. No one tried to save themselves first. They moved with calm coordination, each one taking the hardest place when it was their turn. I fetched a spoon and gently lowered it in. The ants climbed out one by one without panic. Then one, weakened, slipped back into the water. And then I saw it. The last ant, almost free, turned back. It climbed down toward the drowning one as if to say, “Hold on, I won’t leave you.” It grabbed him, but couldn’t lift him alone. I lowered the spoon again, and they both came out together — alive. I was speechless. First for having judged them as selfish. Then for their discipline, their resilience, their sacrifice. If ants, so small, can live with such unity and selflessness… why do we humans so often ignore those in need? Why do we build walls instead of living bridges? That morning I learned something: true strength is in unity. And if we’ve forgotten how to live like that, maybe it’s time we learned from the ants.

@JosiePasses @ok6ixx Usually it's when you can expect the workman to arrive. Between 12 and 3, then they stay until the work is done, or until they discover they need a part that they don't have so have to order it and come back. If they arrived at 2:55 they could still stay for ages. It's rubbish

I work as an appliance repair tech. I called a customer while standing at their door after they didn't answer the bell: Me: Hi, this is (My Name). I'm here for your refrigerator repair. Customer: Well I'm not there. I waited until 2:30 and you never came, so I left for errands. Me: You waited until 2:30 today, Customer: Yes. You were supposed to arrive at noon and I waited until 2:30. Me: I'm sorry sir, but your appointment was scheduled for 12 to 3, not at noon sharp. Also, it's only 12:45 right now. Customer: What do you mean 12:45? Me: The time. It's currently 12:45 pm. Customer: When I checked the time it said 2:30. Me: By any chance, were you checking the digital display on your refrigerator? Customer: Yes. Me: The refrigerator I was coming to fix? Customer: I'll be home in ten minutes.

After two women enter the public toilets and flip the locks to “occupied,” I wait my turn. Then a man steps out of the men’s toilet and looks at me funny. “There’s no one in there.” He said. “Yeah, there is.” I replied. “No, there isn’t.” “I just saw them walk in. They say occupied.” “Here, let me show you.” *grabs handle and jiggles it, startling the woman inside, before mumbling* “Huh, I guess there is.” Why are men like this and how do we get them to stop.

This girl said,, I’m a female uber driver. I use the “women riders only” filter. Sometimes I will get to the pickup and find that a woman ordered an uber for a man. That happened last night. Actually it was two men. Uber gives me permission to cancel these rides with no penalty. But it can be hard to figure out what to say. I said “Sorry, I don’t take men after dark.” They looked dumbfounded. I shrugged and said “62 million.” As I was driving away, I heard one of them say, “Honestly, that’s valid.”

@ThePOTSPostman I have been through this, several times. I thought I'd got used to the fact that I'm disabled but sometimes the grief just flares up again. All those things I could be doing, the different life I would lead. My husband and I would have a completely different life with children

The grief with chronic illness is weird because no one died. But your old life did. And people expect you to talk about that gently.

I got myself emotionally ready for flying start. But they just called me to say nobody has epi pen training. So iris start date was delayed until they can have the training. Safe yes but you’d think it would be standard training in a childcare setting.
