This concept that AI is a race to a finish line is foolish..what was the endpoint of the computer race? There wasn't one.

🪩The one and only @stateofai 2025 is live! 🪩 It’s been a monumental 12 months for AI. Our 8th annual report is the most comprehensive it's ever been, covering what you *need* to know about research, industry, politics, safety and our new usage data. My highlight reel:

So, an AI “band” who cite us as an influence (ie, it’s modelled off our music) have just overtaken us on Spotify, in only TWO months. It’s shocking, it’s disheartening, it’s insulting - most importantly - it’s a wake up call. Oppose AI music, or bands like us stop existing.

Congestion pricing by the #’s 6 months in: * 67k fewer drivers entering the zone daily * Delays in Holland tunnel down 65% * Traffic deaths down 32% so far in 2025 * $500m projected this year for MTA capital improvements * Broadway theater attendance up 12% * Subway ridership up 7% * Bus ridership up 12% * LIRR ridership up 8% So yes this program is a SUCCESS.
