Nice, bodgely followed @heathy1337 2MB vram mod for the PSX/PS1, used the tiny TC7SG08FU from a dead COK-002 PS3 board seems to work in ps1-ram-tester! archive.org/details/pu18_1…
I implemented an auto update system for the 360 softmod (ignore the extremely crappy video quality). It'll check for updates on startup and install them with the push of a button. Last feature remaining is uninstall, then top down testing of everything. Maybe release in July...
@RGBeter32X@PointerFunction Feel free to attach my pdf guide(s) to your post, your posts getting a lot of views! Or use however you like - the more people able to do the mod the better!
Nice work on the stack!
@heathy1337@PointerFunction I knew someone had to have done it before, might be easier to find 2MB chips on old gpus too, using CS0 as another address line then ANDing the two for the new CS is very elegant.
Found out it's possible to upgrade the VRAM on most PS1s. Stack two SGRAMs except for pin 28, solder a 22Ω resistor onto pin 28 and wire that to pin 121 of the GPU.
Thanks @PointerFunction for helping me test it. Hopefully someone can make use of it.
@SelimSerefkara@RGBeter32X@PointerFunction Plenty of negative comments on all the ram upgrade documentations from all the people who assume it's going to have X amount of games ready at the same time as the hardware mod is documented 🤣
@nickjayr04@RGBeter32X@PointerFunction There is 2 ways of doing this mod, the way RGBeter has documented is the more primitive stacking method in which you can take a VRAM chip from a matching model
Or there is the easier singular chip method I have linked in another reply
@shpetim@RGBeter32X@PointerFunction No, because they each have their own chip enable pin and the GPU strictly only enables one chip at any point in time
@RGBeter32X@PointerFunction Wtf how can you solder a chip onto a chip
Wouldnt the signals travel down the same pins in parallel... meaning you'd have two ram chips getting same I/O..
@RGBeter32X@PointerFunction We've had the 2mb VRAM for a while now :p
This stack was the original idea we had, but much more graceful is a singular 2mb chip with logic gate to split it
Fun fact, psone actually come with 2mb VRAM chip as standard, but require logic gate to gain access to whole space
@GBNEWS If the government really wanted to provide a safety net for children, they would put pressure on the internet SERVICE providers such as BT etc
I'd Suggest ISP's give parents an OPTIONAL blocking of VPN's and a dedicated, maintained blocklist of dangerous websites would be better
@GBNEWS This ban would effectively ban children from actually somewhat regulated areas of the internet, forcing them to explore less regulated potentially dangerous places, conspiracy theory rabbit holes, radicalisation etc, etc...
It's the most dangerous thing I have ever heard of
‘Families have experienced devastating losses.’
Karla Auker believes the under-16s social media ban is not a political debate but rather a move to protect children and keep them safe online.

@Grimdoomer Looks like someone's been manipulating the console rendering bootanim - similar to how flubber colors and anim could be played with on OG Xbox
@Shakkolvan@Grimdoomer It would appear he's cold booted into unsigned code - so no need for additional exploit - at the point of seeing the coffee it's already blown open, that's where the freeboot kernel could be loaded... (Just speculation so don't quote me) Looks to be as exciting as JTAG
@Grimdoomer Correct me if I'm mistaken. If you can cold boot to Coffee, then theoretically you could coldboot into a bad hardware update or patcher for the kernel, ultimately leading to a full-on soft mod? I kinda want to take a dig at this, myself now.
