I see people post steam charts and it’s obvious they don’t understand how numbers work. Most players are playing for a few hours, a good range is about 2 per player, for the sake of simplicity this means that roughly every 2 hours there’s a new 10k players.

Personally I don’t think Bungie or the devs themselves are to blame at all. We should put all that blame on Pete Parsons. The death of Destiny and predatory micro transactions are thanks to no one else but him; and he’s gone now.

@heavydirtycomfy i do have my problems with bungie and i especially had huge problems with respawn/ea back in my apex prime but i've never harassed a dev in the way some of these people are doing. bunch of crazies around here for sure

Instead of recreating an animation or adding a cooldown to counter grenade spam, what if you just tied it to heat, the issue itself isn’t spamming it’s how much spam you can do with no consequences.

@heavydirtycomfy i was between games for a while but it's the first game i've really clung to since apex. gameplay is great, there are troves of lore, and their store system isn't predatory. but since it's got queer themes and attracts queer people it's naturally gonna be a target

@nucalories yeah its unfortunate, the game is one of the best FPS i’ve played in a few years. I really hope when the hate dies down more and streamers can stream it without getting yelled at then maybe we can see a jump in players and these brain dead losers can move onto their next fixation

As brain-dead as the steam chart spammers are it really does make me sad that more people aren't playing Marathon. Underrated isn't even the right word, it's just artificially hated which is just a bummer.

Marathon is a victim of 4 things:
1.Sony’s live service reputation.
2. Bungie’s D2 baggage.
3. Online grifters who's most played game is steamdb player charts.
4. The playtests were terrible.
The game itself is genuinely one of the best shooters in a decade.
