We worked incredibly hard to scale and iterate on RL and post-training to make Grok Build smarter, better at coding, and faster. Proud and excited to see it finally released. Enjoy!
xAI@xai

An early beta of Grok Build, an agentic CLI for coding, building apps, and automating workflows is now available for SuperGrok Heavy subscribers. Through this early beta, we will improve the model and product based on your feedback. Try it at x.ai/cli

Our team has been working hard over the past few months to support agentic coding RL pipelines. This model should now be significantly stronger for coding tasks, paired with a well-designed TUI. Hope you enjoy trying it out! 🚀

🙋🏻‍♀️ 为什么最近感觉看的访谈里大家最喜欢的食物都是寿司呢?是硅谷有啥潮流吗... 我感觉很难想象在国内问同事最喜欢吃啥,会有很多人说寿司....

I left xAI earlier this year after two incredible years. I joined still early in my career, and had the privilege of meeting many great people and friends along the way. Over time, I ended up leading pretraining across architecture, training, and parts of infra, and later led major RL runs for Coding. Together, we pushed forward generation after generation without missing a beat. None of this would have been possible without the fantastic team. Grateful for my team and friends —their talent and dedication made this possible. Working through hard problems together was the most rewarding part of the journey, and I’ll miss it deeply. It’s hard to walk away from people you’ve spent years building with. But I’m proud of everything we built together, and ready for the next chapter.

I left xAI earlier this week. It has been a truly singular experience to build at the frontier in an environment that moves at extraordinary speed. I was fortunate to work across multiple teams, from infra to coding agents RL and post-training, constantly learning and growing in a way I deeply value. Most importantly, I was surrounded by incredible mentors and colleagues, many of whom I now feel lucky to call friends. I am deeply grateful for the chance to learn from and build alongside them. xAI people are amazing! 2026 has already been an incredible year for AI, with so much happening in just the first quarter. It feels like we are still only at the beginning, and I am very excited for what comes next. Alea iacta est.

This is a very common misconception. Biggest wins are overlapping. If you have 2 memory bound kernels back to back reading and writing 1GB, you pay 4GB of HBM cost. If you overlap them while streaming intermediate state of 128MB(fits in L2 cache) - you only pay 2GB HBM cost. For communication overlapping, benefits are even higher.

Huge congrats to RadixArk and the SGLang/Miles Community!!! With RadixArk’s support, the ecosystem around both SGLang and Miles is only going to get stronger. Excited for what’s ahead 🚀

Congrats @radixark ! From SGLang @lmsysorg to Miles, and to future products, RadixArk is dedicated to building a crucible capable of repeatedly producing cutting-edge AI, bringing the best of AI into every household. We believe in a future of AI diversity and hope to drive the integration of AI into every aspect of production and daily life. In the future we envision, AI will become a partner to many companies and individuals, finding ways to self-evolve—in production, in daily companionship, and within virtual worlds. Everything we have experienced and will continue to experience in the SGLang and Miles open-source communities is unforgettable and highly anticipated. It has been both demanding and exhilarating, allowing us to see friendship, the world, and the boundaries. Over the past six months, I have witnessed for the first time how a united team moves forward hand in hand, and how deeply passionate they are about creation. Each of us has taken on our respective roles and numerous new tasks for the first time; we are all stepping out of our comfort zones, growing, and creating at a rapid pace. "It’s the step-by-step journey of a thousand miles that has carried us here today, and the same relentless march that will lead us into the tens of thousands of miles yet to come." In an era where AI has made ordinary productivity cheaper, relentless, day-to-day refinement has increasingly become the rare key that drives innovation and the future. We hope this will forever remain the soul of RadixArk's culture: focused, uncompromising, humble, and fearless. The underlying logic of creation is not the deliberate pursuit of novelty, but rather independent thinking that remains unswayed by temptation, paired with a meticulous drive for perfection.

I resigned from xAI yesterday. But I still dreamt about it whenever I take a nap, no matter finished work, ongoing, or something I wanted to do but didn’t have chance to. An unforgettable experience like this can rewire your brain and gives you a chill whenever you think about it. I worked with a lot of brilliant minds at xAI, not just within Grok Imagine, and I want to thank you all for making it like a family to me. Thanks Elon, you built this platform where miracles happened. I will miss xAI, but I’m sure the world outside is just as exciting, and I can’t wait to take on this journey. Lastly, I want to thank my wife for her endless support. Last year, I hopped on an airplane to SF not knowing what was coming to me. Her support helped me to go through the toughest time, and I can’t wait to reunite with her again! — sent from anonymous flight

Last day at xAI. For a new grad, the past six months have been an irreplaceable experience. I feel fortunate to have made the decision to join this journey with xAI, and grateful for how much I was able to learn here in such a short, dense period of time. I'm proud of what we built, and what the multimodal team continues to build. I have deep faith in this team. No matter where I go next, I'll always look forward to seeing what my friends here pull off and bring into the world. I'm especially grateful to my captains along the way -- people I look up to, trust deeply, and who placed trust in my potential. I truly appreciate all the friends I met here, and the time we spent building together. And thanks xAI for the opportunity, and for giving me the space to learn, contribute, and grow. In the end, the greatest treasure is indeed the journey itself: the problems worth solving, and the people worth building with. Now, it's time to step into the uncertainty of what comes next.

After 1 year at @xai, I'm joining @periodiclabs to build the RL system for atoms. xAI was a once-in-a-lifetime experience: building the inference stack at megascale from zero, countless late-night debugging sessions, endless memes and Slackmojis with the team. I'm deeply grateful for the trust xAI leaders (@lm_zheng @ying11231 @Guodzh @makro_ai) placed in me, and for the incredible people I got to build alongside. AGI really is the friends we made along the way. Digital AI has come incredibly far, and I have no doubt physical AI will go through the same revolution, starting from the fundamentals: atoms and labs. Born and raised in Taiwan, I deeply understand how transformative materials are to technology — and how much is still left to explore. Periodic Labs has an unmatched combination of elite scientists and research engineers, tackling one of the most ambitious problems out there. I'll be focused on building the world's first and best RL system for atoms. So excited to work with @LiamFedus @ekindogus @AnjneyMidha to build a better future for humanity! Bonus: we'll be building on a lot of open source technology and contributing back generously — feels incredible to be back in the OSS community again.
