@NickMilo @neophyte2k Bunny is a great CDN that added video — cheap, fast, works. Mux is video-first — better player, better analytics, built by the team behind Video.js. If video is core to what you're doing, Mux. If you're optimizing for lowest cost, Bunny works. Both might just be free for you.

@heff @neophyte2k Hey there. How would you compare Mux to a Vimeo or something like Bunny Stream?

Damn, Vimeo was bought out?! By the same company that bought out Evernote? And they laid off almost everybody, again?! We use Vimeo to host videos. What should we use to host videos instead?

@neophyte2k @NickMilo Blurgh, Mux founder here, feeling like somehow we're landing on both the too simple and too advanced sides of this conversation. What should we add so it's not pretty sparse?

@NickMilo Makes sense - Mux does have a web uploader that spits out iframe embeds, but its pretty sparse. I'd probably look at Cloudflare Stream or Bunny.net for something more featureful. Beyond that are enterprise LMS options like Kaltura and Panopto but pricing will suck.

Video.js is getting completely rebuilt. Created by our co-founder @heff, we're stepping up as the new corporate steward, and are doing a complete rewrite: composable and framework-native. @21LUCKANCSA @rauchg @MuxHQ @vercel That's our free test mode, before adding a CC to your account. Clearly we need to communicate what's happening better, especially for next-video users. It's on our roadmap to improve our test mode and make it easier to get started on Mux overall.

@rauchg @MuxHQ @vercel The last time I tried it in development by sending my own videos using their API, it would say "videos available for testing" and the next day it wouldn't work. Don't know if any one has ever faced it. What do you think was wrong.

Doing video on the web really, really well is hard. Just today a customer asked me for help on why their videos worked on Chrome but not Safari iOS 🥴 Excited to have @muxhq join the @vercel marketplace to make

@yourcasualdev @rauchg @MuxHQ @vercel You can use mux-uploader-react to push videos to Mux. The next-video project specifically is only streaming right now but we have plans to extend it to uploading/recording as well.

@rauchg Very nice having built a similar fully fledged player for Nebula, this is no small task to get right. This looks like it's 90% there, feature-wise.

This is legit amazing. A themable video player built on web components that can express everything from YouTube's style to Winamp: player.style

@norbusonam @rauchg Thanks! Exactly why we built this. I've been sad by how few people actually style players to fit their site design.

@rauchg I just implemented the default YouTube player in my app last night and hated how out of place it looked. This is the PERFECT solution!

@matt_mcclure @rauchg Matt's not wrong here...kudos to the YouTube dev that built the originals. Impressive craftsmanship. I had to stretch my SVG game to recreate them.
