Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis
Sir Ben Helfgott was one of the most inspirational people I have known. He was a charismatic and passionate leader, who promoted the values of compassion, understanding, love and peaceful coexistence. His own horrific experiences inspired him to work tirelessly for a more peaceful and unified world and he inspired us to do likewise. Our thoughts today are with his wife Arza, sons Maurice, Michael and Nathan, and his inimitable sister Mala Tribich. Our ultimate tribute to Sir Ben must be a renewed commitment to guaranteeing that the lessons of the Holocaust will never be forgotten.

Apart from the hay fever, the constant sweat, the sunburn, the lack of sleep, the wasps, the bug bites, the baking hot car, the 3am sunrise, the non-stop disco from next door’s garden, the yellow lawn, the heat rash, the absence of air con and the complete lack of energy… I’m actually a big fan of Summer.

@SkyNewsBreak Don't these idiots realise they are causing more harm and distress to the horses with their stupid actions than the races themselves!

As the sun is setting on the bear bile industry in Vietnam, we've rescued another bear from the cruel bile farming industry. Named Sunset, she will join Dawn in quarantine as she starts her new life.

In less than a week, on the 21st March @CambsCC will vote on whether to DESTROY its largest traditional orchard. A HABITAT OF PRINCIPAL IMPORTANCE, a 1000 trees, for a £200m tarmac road for buses. A loss @greatercambs claim can be “lessened to non-significant” in 30 years by “mitigation”, it cannot. Media, shine a light on those who have a vote so that we, and the generations behind us, who will have to pay for their decision, can bear witness 🌳🚌❌🐝 #TippingPoint #Ecocide #ClimateCrisis #Biodiversity Loss #CostOfLivingCrisis 🖊 change.org/p/save-the-gre… x.com/unbiodiversity…

Apple trees benefit all sorts of wildlife, but traditional orchards are now rare in the UK – around two thirds have been lost since 1960. So please plant apple trees to help bats, birds, butterflies and bees! Advice: bit.ly/3GHhgob Via @LGSpace

@susie_dent My favourite from my grandmother, whenever she was told some surprising or unbelievable news, was to say "Well I'ii go to the foot of our stairs." I have no idea where itcame from but it always made me smile.

Which words or expressions have your parents and grandparents passed on to you? My mum still calls me a ‘contrary Mary’ and often references her ‘giddy aunt’, while my gran loved telling me she ‘couldn’t give a tinker’s cuss’. How about yours?

Funny how “you’ll go to bed early!” is such a threat when you’re a kid, whereas now it’s a lovely treat
