@cavivekshah India's VDA reporting framework already treats intermediaries broadly. if tokenized assets fall under the same rules, custody and recordkeeping requirements will push institutional players toward regulated custodians faster than anywhere else in Asia
English

India’s Asset Tokenization (Regulation) Bill 2026 is an important development for digital asset infrastructure.
Key points:
1) Legal classification of tokenized assets will determine the compliance perimeter.
2) Custody, transferability, and investor rights must be clearly defined.
3) Market adoption will depend on enforceable documentation and operational controls.
4) Regulatory clarity will matter as much as technical innovation.
This will open many more opportunities for investors to own real world assets (#RWA) on fractional ownership basis.
Not financial advice.

@prashant__sha the real burden here is on smaller Indian VDA exchanges that don't have the reporting infrastructure yet. building that from scratch for an April 1 deadline was a very tight timeline
English

Section 285BAA of the Income Tax Act 2025 is already live, effective 1 April 2026.
Crypto exchanges must report customer transactions in a standardised format. Combined with the existing 1% TDS under Section 194S and Schedule VDA in the ITR, the domestic data trail is comprehensive.
Three reporting layers, one taxpayer, you.

@GaetanJansseune @BCDNewsBot Belgium moving faster than most on MiCA implementation. the real test comes when cross-border enforcement kicks in. a CASP registered in one member state flagged by another is going to be messy
English

@BCDNewsBot Interesting timing. EU already has MiCA live since Jan 2025 and Belgium started enforcing crypto tax under the new framework. US is still negotiating the basics. The regulatory gap between the two is widening every month.

@NBTC_finance FCA probing a tokenization project they're nominally supporting is classic UK regulatory whiplash. keeps saying crypto hub but the enforcement actions don't always match the narrative

@Amymiguel001 @Cointelegraph clear rules yes, but stablecoin issuance rules and DeFi protocol regulation are completely different conversations. nobody agrees on the DeFi part yet so "clear rules" is doing a lot of work there
English

@Cointelegraph “Clear rules are what the crypto industry has been waiting for regulation could finally unlock real institutional growth. ₿📈
English

@Kaligula_Khan @SMQKEDQG if every transaction needs a compliance layer the censorship resistance argument becomes more theoretical than practical. the question is whether the permissioned version is still useful enough to matter
English

Here’s what’s actually happening:
Crypto regulation is turning blockchains from speculative casinos into usable financial infrastructure.
The $500T does not “fit into crypto.” It flows through crypto rails the way money flows through Visa, banks, exchanges, and clearinghouses.
GENIUS helps legitimize stablecoin settlement.
CLARITY helps define which digital assets and platforms are legally usable.
Once rules exist, banks, funds, payment apps, brokers, and companies can start building on-chain without as much regulatory fog.
The real bet is simple: the chains that become trusted financial plumbing may capture enormous value, even if they only touch a small fee, liquidity, settlement, or security layer of the larger system.

English

‼️ THE GENIUS + CLARITY ACTS WILL HELP FACILITATE THE ON-CHAIN MIGRATION OF $500 TRILLION ‼️
This is why market cap does not limit the potential of crypto asset price growth.🎯
$500 trillion.💰
The total market cap of crypto is less than $3 trillion.🙇♂️
Currently, the only trillion-dollar crypto asset is Bitcoin, during this pre-utility phase.💯
After the migration of $500 trillion in assets to public blockchains, expectations around crypto asset price appreciation will be forced to evolve.☝️
Public blockchains that inherit hundreds of trillions in value will become sources of great wealth creation.📈
Meanwhile, a significantly higher price for native tokens will only be a byproduct of mainstream blockchain adoption.🔑
Protocols that will be valued in the trillions.✅
For the first time.💯
Documented.📝👇

@Businessiz US, EU, UK, Singapore, Japan all doing stablecoin frameworks at the same time is genuinely unprecedented. the interesting question is whether they converge or create a fragmented compliance landscape

@notivonews these are pretty different fights. Coinbase US is about securities classification, UK wallet rules are about AML and custody. outcomes look very different even if both get called "regulatory tension"

@diemmy70 @EdgenTech depends which part. stablecoin rules are moving fast but DeFi and token classification are still a mess so "crypto regulation agreement" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that sentence

A key agreement on U.S. crypto regulation could unlock the next phase of adoption

Africa’s stablecoin boom is accelerating.
✔ Faster cross-border payments
✔ Lower remittance costs
✔ Growing SME adoption
But 2026 brings new risks:
⚠️ Regulation
⚠️ Dollarization
⚠️ Capital flight concerns
Blockchain is becoming financial infrastructure.

@marcb_xyz one year for implementing rules is very optimistic. CFTC's track record on this is not great, most Dodd-Frank provisions took 3-4 years of actual rulemaking after enactment
English

@GlobalNews_EN GENIUS Act explicitly prohibits yield on payment stablecoins so banks basically won round 1. the middle ground argument was always going to lose once you look at the actual bill text

@skipper_xrp does anyone keep track of how many next two weeks calls Garlinghouse has made? genuinely asking

@a16z just closed Crypto Fund 5 at $2.2B.
The market is quiet. The capital is loud.
Stablecoins crossed $320B. Bitcoin reclaimed $80K. CLARITY Act is moving.
This is the part of the cycle where the durable value gets built. 🧵

@cryptonewsweb banks pushing back on deposit protection language makes sense once you see the real fear - if stablecoin holders get bank-like protections, why use banks at all. they see the disintermediation risk
