Many working class New Yorkers use businesses like Western Union to send money to their loved ones living abroad. These businesses charge fees to process these transfers.

At this afternoon’s Community and Ethnic Media Roundtable, we announced the results of DCWP’s recent enforcement sweep of Immigration Assistance Service Providers (ISPs) throughout the five boroughs. Out of270 inspections, Brooklyn was found to have the highest violation rate.
