@SavTheWright It's simply just the strong anti-alcohol mentality in young people you see so often on the internet currently. They barely have a concept of what alcohol does in practice, so they just take these (generally true) claims at face value and to the extreme.

Why is everyone saying how bad this is. I've been mixing monster and vodka since I was in college. I think you guys are just chronically online and heard it from some "super alcohol expert"

@m1tusrt It's pretty simple imo. MANT is by far the most engaging and complex scenario to date. For some people that's a negative cuz runs are exhausting and take ages. Many of us love it exactly for that cuz even bad rng can be mitigated through game knowledge. Fuck clocks though.

@erstatiz There comes a point where there is a legitimate case to be made that authors could claim actual financial damages caused by these people, but no one has the money and energy for an international lawsuit.

Never surprised at localization hacketjobs of Japanese games. The " translators " involved there are by far the worst and the least accountable of the anime/manga/vidya trio. With Yunyun Syndrome, it's they didn't even try to have a basic cloak of legitimacy it's so blatantly bad

@chiieeri Gotta wait for Group A. It was the same with CM11, the gap between Group A and B had grown into a canyon cuz of MANT. I'm sitting on 70% winrate in the first round, but if room matches were anything to go by, I'll be torn a new one by actually well built Xoguris.

Has anyone noticed that cm12 xoguris are getting beaten by the most random umas? Like I'm talking umas that werent in the meta for this cm

@KrisUmasimp So far I've got a ~70% winrate, which is in large part due to my whole team being built around neutralizing Xoguris (Vodka ace, Natie debuffer and Grass hybrid ace/debuffer). But, if room matches told me anything, once I start getting the optimized Xoguris in group A, its joever.

@TheKaijuKingdom Irony is one of the biggest plagues of current day cinema. People just can't write/direct something silly and campy without constantly flaunting that they're "above it". As if belittling their own media out of ego. Speed Racer is the antithesis of that.

Beyond the visuals. Beyond the cast. Beyond the story. I truly believe what has made this film stand the test of time is how earnest it is. There's no cynicism to be had in this movie. It's what we've been missing lately.

@TheThirdKasi Uma has already reached insane levels of character bloat. Which becomes an issue with the expectation that they all must get additional content. That's just not feasable and will become even less so. Hence yeah, the only path is Uma becoming a predominantly fan-works franchise.

Fan creations genuinely do help Umamusume a lot. I feel like Cygames is juggling with too many balls and it’s causing problems. When was the last time you saw Rhein Kraft or Yukino Bijin?

@Bloke_Baz At one point I went from a job where I worked ~60 hour weeks, often to total exhaustion, to one where I had like 30 minutes of work a day, for the same pay. For a month, it felt amazing to recover, but if I had to choose which one to do for 40 years, its definitely the forner.

Unpopular opinion: doing absolutely nothing at work is more draining mentally than being busy at work.

@Kontenasan_bf Started from last year's Japan Cup with Admire Terra being an menace, been watching every G1 since. But by far the strongest impression a horse has left on me so far was Star Anise just last Sunday. I remembered her from last year HJF, but she was something else at the Oka Sho.

A lot of people seem to be following the Classics for the first time this year, and I think they picked a very good moment to start. First impressions matter — almost like imprinting. This year’s crop could hardly ask to be a better introduction, and it might also be the perfect year to find a horse to root for. Horse racing is a drama without a script, but it is never entirely random either. Sometimes it really does feel as though there is a script after all. A recent example would be the 2022 Classic crop. That was the generation many newcomers followed in earnest, after pandemic-era attendance restrictions were largely lifted and Uma Musume had brought a new wave of fans into the sport. The fact that that crop included horses like Do Deuce and Equinox, along with so many other top-class runners, still feels almost miraculous to me. It was almost too perfect. And as for this year’s Classics, people keep calling them wide open, but I think that is part of what makes this group so interesting. Looking back, I would not be surprised if many first-time viewers end up feeling glad that this was the crop they started with.

@curiousfntsy The entire left-right separation has lost all meaning. It's an arbitrary mess of opinions on upwards to like 10 sociopolitical buzzwords. It boils economic politics down to "taxes good/taxes bad" in the mainstream. Imo, a major appeal of TISZA is it looking beyond that spectrum.

@jessthegoat345 Absolutely doable with that deck. It was 3 things that helped me break that same wall: 1. pre-debut leveling facilities is slightly more important than friendship level 2. Going from 33-34 to 37+ races makes a major difference 3. Resting post-debut is an absolute last resort.

This remains my best MANT run so far…I really wanna try and get an SS+ or a UG tho…idk if that’s doable :(
