@dittycheria What’s most interesting to me about this AI thing and tech more broadly is that Jevon’s paradox doesn’t apply exclusively to software engineers.

@marcrandolph Exactly. Raw hours do make the difference and increase the chances of success by double, but say that is from 1% to 2%. You also need to prioritize your family and health. This 9-9-6 trend is a cultural flaw

There’s a story founders love to tell themselves: more hours equals more progress. Grind harder. Sleep less. Out-work everyone. The badge of honor isn’t the company you built — it’s how broken you got building it. Truth is, I think it’s nonsense. And it’s making you worse at your job.

Me pregunto si algunos programadores están considerando volverse FDE. Es el rol que será más demandado en los próximos 5 años...

Recently I've had several people telling me that they are moving from @cursor and back to @code. Codex/Claude is doing all of work, and they want a clean code editor to review some of the code in. Interesting times.

En Bogotá y Medellín la relación entre estrato y voto por izquierda o derecha es brutal. No sé qué tan fuerte sea la clásica relación ingreso-afiliación política en el resto del país, pero en las dos principales ciudades de Colombia es cristalina.

@tekbog I agree. Even if we assume that the AI models won’t improve anymore, there is still much to change in the world just because mindset doesn’t change at the same rate as technology

software engineering has changed, a lot of people are still trying to resist to the idea, it will take enterprise still years to catch up but the field has changed and a lot of knowledge that software engineers had, is useless - however not all of it, and the bit that’s not outdated, those skills are the most useful in this new AI era it will take a lot of time for people to adjust, especially for the veterans that do not want to accept the new times, perhaps a change of roles in those cases are good, or even fields, but people who know and care about software engineering will be in high demand in the upcoming years - you just no longer have to be a code monkey i think we just need to recognize that a lot of code monkey jobs are just over, they will not exist going forward

🇨🇴🗳️Guarumo and AtlasIntel dropped this week.🐾 Nothing I didn't expect. I'll do a full breakdown this weekend. Quick take: Guarumo remains my third most reliable pollster this cycle. AtlasIntel I have some methodology concerns I want to dig into before commenting. What I can tell you: neither changes my thesis. Positions unchanged.

Something strange is happening in tech. CTOs of billion dollar companies are quitting to take IC roles at Anthropic. Workday CTO -> MTS (Mar 2026) You[.]com CTO -> MTS (Mar 2026) Instagram CTO -> MTS (Jan 2026) Box CTO -> MTS (Dec 2025) Super[.]com CTO -> MTS (July 2025) Adept AI CTO -> MTS (Jan 2025) The mission is that real.

Sin romanticismos: Medellín cambió. La pregunta es para quienes la habitamos: ¿hoy se vive mejor o peor? Ojalá me puedan responder pensando en la ciudad como una ciudad para habitar y no solo para explotar.

We're currently hiring a head of finance, and one of the candidates we talked to said, "I have four openclaws set up right now" And I was like, yes! Instant shortlist. If you're applying for a role at an ai-native company and not playing around with this stuff, you're already losing points.
