Objectively speaking, Nolan creates the best endings to movies ever. There’s not a single filmmaker that even comes close.

🚨BREAKING: Chappell Roan has responded to the Jorginho breakfast incident on Instagram... then INSTANTLY deletes it. "i just woke up. i deserve my space, especially in moments like breakfast. i don’t play about my breakfast."
Zoomer 🧢 tweet media
Zoomer 🧢@Doomerzoomer

This Chappell Roan situation is CRAZY. What happened: Brazilian footballer Jorginho Frello shared an emotional Instagram story from São Paulo, where he and his family were staying at the same hotel as singer Chappell Roan ahead of Lollapalooza Brasil. His 11-year-old daughter, a big fan who had even made a handmade sign saying “I AM WATCHING Chappell Roan!”, woke up excited that morning. During breakfast, the girl simply walked past Roan’s table, smiled to confirm it was really her, and quietly returned to sit with her mum - without approaching, speaking, or asking for anything. What happened next: Moments later, one of Roan’s large security guards stormed over to the family’s table in an extremely aggressive manner. He scolded both the mum and the young girl, accusing the child of “disrespect” and “harassment” simply for walking past and looking. He even threatened to file a formal complaint against them with the hotel. The 11-year-old was left sitting there in tears and visibly shaken. Jorginho’s reaction: In his Instagram post, Jorginho explained that he fully understands boundaries and public exposure as a famous athlete himself, but said this reaction was completely disproportionate to an innocent child’s admiration. He tagged Chappell Roan directly and wrote: “WITHOUT YOUR FANS, YOU WOULD BE NOTHING. AND TO THE FANS, SHE DOES NOT DESERVE YOUR AFFECTION.” No response from Roan or her team has been reported yet.

Again, apologies about cafetetia/singing/Scream 2 scene. I think it had to stay because the exhange of The Greek Letters had significance. Okay, logging off.

@MrJerryOC It is the worst scene in the franchise unfortunately, but as much as Wes is a genius and my favorite ever, he might should have put this one on the cutting room floor so I can’t hold you responsible

Jaws is not the greatest movie ever made. That's Titanic. I love Jaws, but it trades romance for bromance. It's part of Spielberg's early "Handyman" movies - films about men fixing things, from Duel to Jaws to Close Encounters to Raiders. It's not until E.T. that Spielberg earns his sentimental manipulator reputation. Jaws is an incredible movie, an expertly crafted movie, but Titanic is a MOVIE. Spectacle, romance, man vs. nature, man vs. man, rich vs. poor, love, sacrifice, honor, old and young, life and death, women and children first - basically everything you could ever want out of Hollywood. It's Jaws with the iceberg as the shark, but also Romeo and Juliet as a ship sinks. It's the ultimate Spielberg movie that Spielberg never made. Filmmakers love the craftsmanship and existential simplicity of Jaws, but deep down, the audience wants more than to beat a shark. They want Leo DiCaprio to tell them to live.

In the final scene of BATMAN BEGINS, the Joker teaser with the card was a nod to Gotham’s “next problem,” but Nolan shot it and scored it like a mini‑cliffhanger, making the exchange feel like a comic‑book splash page setting up a bigger world.

@absrdst @anonymoustrap @DL2onX @jaysonbuford There’s nothing in the scene that implies they are contributing influencers/musicians. They are just as likely cultural parasites, only living at night. They lament the loss of their old music and not being able to see the sun.

@absrdst @DL2onX @jaysonbuford Stack refers to the last day he saw his brother as the time they were free. This is one of the biggest themes of the film, if their people can find freedom post slavery. Being a vampire clearly ain’t it.

Joe Russo@joerussotweets

About to be LOTS of bad takes about Kathleen Kennedy, but she made: Indiana Jones, Poltergeist, ET, Gremlins, Back to the Future, The Goonies, Batteries Not Included, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Cape Fear, Schindler's List, Jurassic Park, Twister (and MORE). She’s GOAT’ed.

Interesting fact: No Time to Die (2021) — It is the only James Bond film where Bond truly faces the consequences of his emotional attachments. Daniel Craig insisted on giving Bond a definitive ending rather than another reset. This decision divided fans but redefined the character’s emotional depth. The film closes Craig’s era as the most human and vulnerable portrayal of Bond to date.

The Underworld franchise’s blue-gray look was intentional. The cold, metallic color palette was designed to visually separate vampires (cool tones) from werewolves (warmer, earthier tones).....

@T3Uncoupled Ambiguous endings can be incredible. 2001, The Thing, Inception, American Psycho, Mulholland Drive, The French Connection. An open ended narrative can make way for thematic richness that lasts well beyond the last frame. It’s quite a shame you’ll never be able to appreciate them.

Rewatched "No Country for Old Men" yesterday, and I am placing my head under the guillotine here by saying this, but making movies with ambiguous endings is terrible art because it shows the director's and writer's lack of decisiveness in making, defending and completing their point, and by “leaving it to the audience to guess what happens”, they absolve themselves of all moral responsibility. It's how dreams on DHT, or stories in Dickens' writing, despite the intense emotions and darkness, always end with satisfying conclusions.

I was watching Netflix’s new series Death by Lightning. It’s set in Chicago, 1880 - and this establishing scene pops up. In the foreground: •an Asian woman, •two Black men, •and a one-legged man - all walking together downtown. It immediately stuck out to me, so I looked up the actual demographics for Chicago in 1880. Here’s what the numbers say: •Chicago’s population: about 503,000 •Black population: 6,500 (≈1.3%) •Chinese population: 172 total (≈0.03%) •Chinese women? About 3% of that - meaning roughly 5 total in the entire city. •Disabled/one-legged men from the Civil War era? Plausible, maybe 0.1–0.2% of the population. So if you ran the math on the odds of seeing all of that - an Asian woman, two Black men, and an amputee - in one random 50-person crowd downtown, it comes out to about 0.00016%, or roughly 1 in 640,000. In other words, Netflix made a scene that’s about as statistically likely as spotting a UFO on your morning commute - but hey, at least the diversity box got checked.

@PJ_Lowry @28mnthslater To be more specific, the first half that you love is them building towards that freedom and the vampire second half is the western world flexing its new tools of re-enslavement on them.

@PJ_Lowry @28mnthslater The core thematic question of the film is “can these people define what being free means to them now?” and the vampires are anything but arbitrary to this. Follow this line and you’ll find the writers intent.
