I have been saying the same thing over and over again but for some reason most market participants don't seem to understand the implications of this and the damage it is doing to the economy, margins, and supply chains that TACO can't fix.

We may already be seeing it → escalating strikes, undermining any regional ceasefire. So even if the U.S. + Iran reach a deal… That doesn’t mean the conflict ends. If Israel keeps fighting Iran: • Tankers won’t risk transit • Insurance spikes • Oil doesn’t flow • Energy prices stay elevated (or go higher) This is the setup the market is ignoring. Now the real question: Does the U.S. rein in Israel to protect markets + a ceasefire? Or does it back Israel… and re-enter the conflict? That’s the conundrum for Donald Trump. My base case? Israel’s influence wins → escalation→ oil stays bid.

I know CNN is bias against Trump but these are valid points and I think something seems off to me too about the agreement. If Trump did give into all of Iran’s points then Iran effectively won and used the financial market pressure and Trumps love of stocks as a way to beat him and a major military power far superior to their own. Also if true, yes there is a cease fire, but costs increase due to the inefficient model, geopolitical risk premium, and insurance, so inflationary price transmission continues at a slower death by thousand cuts pace versus a quick surge like the path we are on, and still on since it could take 4-6 weeks to normalize flow but didn’t they say the cease fire was for two weeks? Not enough time to get back to normal and refill the supply chain. Finally if this isn’t what Trump agreed to then there is no cease fire and both sides are using the news to mask their true intentions and bombs can start flying at any moment once again, Time will tell.

Several US service members wounded in Iranian strike on Prince Sultan Airbase in Saudi Arabia today per reporting in the Wall Street Journal. They added that the strike damaged several refueling aircraft and included drones and missiles.
