@ferafestiva23 @IsSaddleThereIs I hired a car for my first road trip around Scotland so no - you don’t have to own a car. The difference is, there’s not 12 million people living there.

@IsSaddleThereIs Of course I did. I travelled 1650 miles in six days, I travelled from Devon to Loch Lomond to Glen Coe to Fort William to Mallaig on the west coast to Inverness via Loch Ness to Perth to Edinburgh to Northumberland to Devon. How could I do that on a bike or public transport?

@CBikeLondon It’s the ones you see on residential streets glancing down to their phones as they drive. They are the ones I’m afraid will knock somebody down.

I’ve just driven alone on motorway for 200 miles, which is a rare occurrence for me. Being alone in the car on the motorway meant I had time to look around at vehicles that overtake me or my those I overtake. I’d estimate at least a quarter were on their phones. It’s shocking.

@BrightLitegames @WarksCyclist How do you make an evasive manoeuvre when you have already passed the driver. The driver must have been looking for traffic driving on to the roundabout to have driven straight into the cyclist. If the driver was looking where they were going, the cyclist would have been seen.

@WarksCyclist (I'm a cyclist) some cyclists assume that Hi-Vis automatically makes them seen and therefore put themselves in more danger. As someone who used to ride motorbikes for a decade, you need to assume that every driver hasn't seen you and be prepared to stop or make evasive maneuvers.

@DuncanStott @tonybrett I commute 2 work at 5am - I don’t like playing with traffic. If at a red light x-ing with no bods, I will ride thru. I will always stop at jnctns. Feel safer being ahead of a driver where I know they have seen me.

@tonybrett While most cyclists do stop, it's not uncommon to see cyclists ignore red lights. I'd like to understand it more as a phenomenon before getting angry about it. Does it cause accidents? Can junctions and traffic signals be better designed to accommodate the behaviour?

Is it wrong to feel angry about people on bikes who jump red traffic lights when there's me and a bunch of other cyclists obeying the law and waiting? I feel angry because it makes other road users hate us cyclists and thus be less careful around us, reducing safety for all.

@robinjones78 @francesca_kms Drivers are usually more careful when driving around kids. We had to get from Charing X to Paddington via Parliament Square to catch a train for our cycling holiday. Our boy was 5. I was terrified but all traffic stayed well away.

@swallowmosaics @crabsclaws @theJeremyVine I don’t think you get what I’m saying either so let’s just leave it there. There’s more than one way to see something. I see things lots of ways - not just the one. Not everyone is innocent - not everyone is guilty. Some people take advantage of- fact.

@hels67 @crabsclaws @theJeremyVine I don’t think you do get what I’m saying. There are several disabilities that qualify for a blue badge and yet the person can still run across a car park. You are not the judge of those people simply because you assume disability = immobile.

@lady_cattington @crabsclaws @theJeremyVine Talking about abuse of blue badges - unless I’ve gone and replied to the wrong thread again. Using a blue badge when you can sprint to court is an abuse, isn’t it. I actually know people who have used the blue badge they have for a family member who isn’t in the car.

@crabsclaws @theJeremyVine My dad saw a car park in a blue badge space (with badge). Dad and three sons got out and ran across the car park to the court house.

@LQcontactus Social media team seems a lot more effective than any other part of the laughable and questionable company. How on earth did any of you ever get jobs. We should have known when we were buying. Even your sales person was rubbish.

@LQcontactus now even ceo Fiona F-S can’t do her job cos she can’t get staff to do theirs. Shed/gate issue of nearly 18 months still outstanding. If Russell Williams contacts you out of the blue to fix all yr problems, hang up - he’ll just make everything worse.

@Tracingpaper5 @SimonScarrow @therealmissjo On the same graveyard shift, I worked with the laziest white woman ever. Feet on the desk reading magazines while the supervisor wasn’t in the room. She was supervisors favourite though - what could you do?

@Tracingpaper5 @SimonScarrow @therealmissjo I worked with a no. of black women in a typing pool. One was the laziest I know. Popped to the loo with the Sun under her arm. Told me if the supervisors did anything, she would play the race card. The other 4 on the graveyard shift were among the hardest workers I’ve worked with

My friend has a black woman working for him. She is not performing. Lazy. Refuses to do what is asked. Makes a lot of mistakes. But when he asked HR about letting her go, he was told that he had to back off because she is black and a woman and he is a man and white and his expectations are too high. What would you do?

@BeerBelly973871 @MikeyCycling I bet you’d appreciate this snitch if he saved your life or prevented serious injury. Upset drivers must be using their phones whilst driving. Otherwise, what’s there to be upset about?

@nickprice153 @AlisonSandy4 @SteveAReformUK @wenvoe_wheelers When on single or narrow lanes, the car is always on the wrong side of the road. When 2 cyclists are heading towards you, they can go single file and just about pass but drivers get so enraged. Y don’t they get as enraged when it’s a car coming the other way and 1 has to reverse
