@michaelxpettis Can they can make this change voluntarily? Their political-economic system seems designed to be export-driven. Every other Asian growth story (Japan, Asian Tigers) invoked a debt crisis to break exigent incentives/behaviors.

8/8 So far it's mostly been the latter, and nothing in the Third Plenum communiqué suggested any change, but I think its becoming increasingly clear that Beijing has little choice but to direct more stimulus over the rest of 2024 into the demand side. Let's see if they do it.

@sampullara @Tesla My #1 request is to remember my setting to, e.g., minimize lane changes on all drives. Not sure why they only allow that per session.

now that my @Tesla on 12.4.2 drives 99% of the time i would like a couple of features to get that last 1%: - fine grained navigation at the beginning and end of the trip where i can manually adjust the exact path where i start and near where i want to park at the destination - if i use the turn signal to adjust the lane remember the conditions when i did that - allow it to break the law at stop signs / right turn on red and creep through them at < 3mph - move out of the left lane and let folks pass that are traveling faster - on curvy roads, pull over and let people pass if they are traveling faster - don't warn the cameras can't see at night because there are no cars nearby - read the speed limit signs rather than depend on location - identify bad drivers and avoid them on the road - honk if someone else on the road is driving dangerously and may cause an accident

Our country needs more empathy. My solution is after high school, those that were raised in the city go work a rural job, and those raised in the country go work in a city. See multiple ways of life by walking in each other's shoes. At least there will be understanding.
