I am tired. I am tired of being stressed all the time about money. I am tired of living pay check to pay check. I am tired of knowing that if my car dies then I am totally screwed. I am tired of not being able to put any money into savings. I am tired of working hard every day and knowing that I will get to enjoy none of the money that I make because it will all be gone as soon as I get it for bills and groceries. I am tired of being told by assholes who grew up in the most prosperous time in history to cut back even more when nothing they suggest applies to me at all. I dont doordash. I eat fastfood once a month at most. I eat PB&J for lunch every day at work and skip lunch on weekends. I drink monster because I am so stressed all the time that I cant sleep well and if I dont have huge injections of caffeine every day I wouldnt be able to function. You can wander through my feed and see the few things I treated myself to but the only reason I was able to get those things was due to the mediocre tax returns I get or when I cashed out my 401k to pay bills after being laid off because unemployment was nowhere near enough. Got myself a few things to make me happy when I got my current job. I was lucky to have bought my house when the interest rates were the lowest in history and I had been saving up as much as I could for several years for a downpayment. Yet I know there are thousands of other people my age who werent and may never be that lucky. I also had to move from the West Coast to the East Coast in upstate NY to even find a house I could afford the payments on. Five years later and my mortgage has gone up 50% due to property taxes alone. I work forty hours a week as someone who has been in IT for almost a decade and I am seriously considering getting a part time job at a gas station on top of that just so I can maybe finally get ahead of all the debt and the bills I have. I've tried finding other jobs that pay more. I've applied to hundreds of job postings and I never get replies. I get approached constantly by recruiters offering me a job that pays half as much as I make now but state they require the same level of experience that I have for a job that I know requires less then a quarter of my knowledge and skills. I worked corporate IT for two years and the best raise I ever got was a measly 1% while listings for my position from the same company were paying $10k more a year. Then was mysteriously laid off this last December which coincidently happened to be a few weeks after I went to my boss to ask him for a better paycheck. Now I am working a job that pays even less because it was the next best thing I could find before I couldn't pay my mortgage anymore. My oldest son is looking into going to trade school(smart kid) and I cant help him at all financially. I cant afford to help him get a car or his license. I cant afford another car payment. I cant afford to add him to my insurance. My youngest sister is getting married in September of this year and I already know that I am going to have to call her and tell her that there is no way I will be able to go because I wont be able to save up enough for the airfare. My grandparents who I love deeply are in a rest home and there is nothing I can do about it. I went back home with my family last year on credit so my grandmother could see my daughter once, other then when she was a baby, before she dies. My credit is in shambles because I couldn't afford the payments anymore and it came down to being able to buy groceries or being able to pay those bills. 90% of the debt was from paying for emergencies I was unable to save up for beforehand or groceries. I dont know how I am going to buy my kids birthday or christmas presents this year. I dont smoke. I dont drink. The one vice I have is weed because it's the only thing that helps me sleep and lets me feel moderate relief from the constant stress I endure every day. I am tired.... So very...very tired...

Watching the Warhammer40k drama unfold the last couple of days here on X, and Reddit has been quite interesting. For some reason, the usual suspects and the pronoun warriors are saying that there are no good guys in Warhammer because the Imperium is a "fascistic theocracy" that treats the Xenos as something to be completely wiped out. Here is the reality. If the Imerpium were a "western style liberal democracy" humanity would be extinct. The forces of Chaos, the Tyranids, Orks, necrons etc would rip humanity to shreds, mired in the slowness of democracy, religious freedoms, and cultural tolerances. Tyranids can't be reasoned with, Chaos are literal hell demons, Orks exist just to fight, Necrons want to sterilize all life etc. The galaxy is a massively grimdark hell universe where humanity has endured over 10 thousand years of constant war. The brutality of the Imperium is the minimum viable survival strat in this insane universe. Sterilizing a planet, virus bombing, etc., sounds insane until you remember in the lore that hesitation or delay has cost them the entire imperium's worlds, sectors etc. The "muh fascism" naiive sheltered 1st world ignorant weirdos think that just because humanity has become so unforgiving means it's not worth saving. These are the same kind of people who advocate for unlimited migrants to invade the 1st world, leading to societal collapse, and in WH40k, they think the xenos are just some misunderstood minorities. When the world eventually falls into a state of war and chaos, the first thing to go is all the niceties of the rules of the liberal democratic order. It happened during WW1, WW2, and it will happen again. Because the alternative is the end of your own culture, society, and nation. Yes, the imperium lobotomizes criminals, burns entire planets just to be safe, with institutionalized racism, and fanaticism on a galactic scale. But like I said... ...the alternative is extinction. That's why the Imperium, the human faction, is the good guys.
