The Meridian Hill Park fountain wasn’t “fixed by Trump” in 2025 or 2026 — the only documented restoration is the National Park Service’s 2022–2023 rehab, ordered years earlier, funded years earlier, and completed before he took office. The Axios/AOL/WTOP pieces circulating now don’t report a new repair; they’re just seasonal “the fountain is running” features that appear every spring. NPS contracts, DC procurement records, and the agency’s own 2023 completion notice show the pumps, plumbing, basins, and waterproofing were rebuilt and the cascade fully reopened in 2023. What people are calling a “recent fix” is just the normal spring startup cycle after winter shutdowns — not a new project, not a new appropriation, and not a presidential intervention.
