People-to-people connect lies at the heart of India-UK relations. Across the country, over 1.8 million expatriates account for 3.1% of UK’s total population but contribute over 6% in GDP.
To highlight this significant aspect of the bilateral partnership, CG attended the launch event of the white paper "Migration of the Indian diaspora to the UK" by UICONNECT in partnership with @hereandnow365 , hosted by BDO. The report outlines a long history of Indian migration to the UK by looking at it in four different phases.
CG in her address mentioned that the #Indiandiaspora is not only a workforce but a critical asset and they are the “living bridge” bringing two countries closer. CG spoke about the thriving and enterprising Indian community in the North of England and how they are strengthening the cultural and economic relations.
