@Profdilipmandal @surajyengde @ambedkariteIND I hope you heard about Dasia Bauri, who was denied entry into the temple for his Dalit identity, and many more incidents witnessed. The Temple entry movement of Odisha started on 8th Jan 1933 by Gapabandhu Choudhary, Radhanath Rath, Nilakantha Das,Loknath Mishra,S.N Sengupta.

@sambitswaraj In your maiden speech in the Loksabha, you miss-laid the people of Odisha and the nation, having said there is no casteism in Odisha. You should look upon the below historical events, which may give you a nuanced understanding of caste rigidity in Odisha.

@monidipadey And it is best for political use, so what about Sankskritization? To whom were given land through copper plate inscription? And how does an aniconic deity turn into an anthropomorphic figure?Human subjectivity, biases, and understanding of the past never produce a cohesive picture.

@monidipadey Dear Monidipa, I read a few of your articles and Tweets; a few of them are equipped with historical facts, and most of them are driven and well-fitted with an agenda as a means to propagate in favor of some ideology. I put forward two historic “ your take on this”

Monidipa Bose - Dey (মণিদীপা)
Came across this map of Delhi today morning on X. Looks more suitable for a city in Pak¡stan. Lodhi gardens- the Lodi dynasty that destroyed innumerable temples in Kashi, Mathura, Gwalior, etc. Feroz Shah- one of the most fanatic Islamic rulers. Among the temples he attacked is the famous Jagannath temple in Puri where he destroyed the stone murti of Jagannath. Ghazipur- the term Ghazi refers to Islamic militants that fight jihad against non-believers. Jahangir- destroyed temples in Mewar, Kangra, Ajmer, Gwalior, etc. Shahjahan- destroyed temples in orchha, Kashmir, Kashi, etc

@monidipadey Since you mentioned the Jagannatha temple and its destruction by the Islamic invasion, are you aware of the indigenous/tribal origin and the Sthambesvari cult? Who is Daitapati (the present priest) if history is about the study of Islamization and Christianization?

I have known @harsh_mander since we met as freshers at St Stephen’s at the age of 16. He was & remains one of the purest souls I have ever come across — a man of unimpeachable integrity, sincere intention and boundless compassion. His mind and heart extend themselves to humanity’s unfortunates, the dispossessed & marginalised. To harass a man like him is unworthy of any decent government. I stand with Harsh.

#HarshMander is a rights activist & Govt critic. He spent a large part of his life fighting for the right to food, information & rights of Adivasis. During Covid he risked his own life to help the poor. Today it's his turn to face the stick, because he dared to ask questions.

Unlike #AgnipathScheme there are other Depts has committed the same mistakes, @ASIGoI recently recruiting #YoungArchaeologist Students are going through the same rigorous process but unfortunately job is for 1 year. Meanwhile, you held up regular recruitment since last 5 years.

It's good hear @ASIGoI is showing interest to protect monuments. Meanwhile, you should look into the manpower strength, you haven't even put yet a single recruitment notice (Assistant Arch.) post for last '5' years. Budding archaeologist are facing acute unemployment issues.
Meenakashi Lekhi@M_Lekhi

Pleased to attend the 37th Meeting of the Central Advisory Board of Archaeology today.  Had a fruitful interaction with the Archaeology experts and outlined the giant strides made by @ASIGoI in protecting our antiquities that are indicative of our prosperous ancient culture.
