Industry leader anchoring TN's shipbuilding cluster is strategic to say the least. HD Hy may lead as anchor investor with a ~4 M GT greenfield yard, following its Dec MoU with TN. Tech teams are on-site; breakwaters & dredging may be supported through the Maritime Dev Fund. HD Hyundai’s $4B shipyard may anchor TN’s ₹5,200 cr Thoothukudi sh-cluster under NSHIP-TN SPV via SbDS; aligns with Centre’s broader ~₹45k cr push.

TN: ₹4,300 cr announced in interim budget for NSHIP. National Shipbuilding & Heavy Industries Park is a 50:50 SIPCOT + VOP SPV for a shipbuilding & marine ancillary cluster. ₹5,200 cr Thoothukudi cluster to be developed via NSHIP, aligns with centre's ₹20,000 cr Union shipbuilding scheme. ₹30k cr (2x ₹15,000-cr) MoUs with CSL for 1M GT/year capacity + MDL for a 2nd greenfield yard.

@pk00202500 For all of Trump's $150 billion MAGSA (Make American Shipbuilding Great Again), Hanwha is only planning to expand Philly Shipyard to 700k GT (idk if even that's gonna happen) And this alone will be 4 mil GT?😳

#WATCH | Delhi: On the US Treasury Department issuing a temporary 30-day waiver to allow Indian refiners to purchase Russian oil, Executive Director of the Observer Research Foundation America, Dhruva Jaishankar, says, "It shows that the US is conscious of the impact of the global market. They're not doing it out of any goodwill. They're doing it because they're worried about inflation and ramifications in the US. I think they're making these adjustments, understanding that. But it's one thing where all the big energy consumers will at some point have to cooperate amongst each other to ensure, in this time period, how they adjust..."

Seeing all these pro-interventionist takes on Indian Twitter makes me wonder if there was also a political faction in China that pushed for Chinese intervention in Iraq during its double digit growth years.

@theanonlurker thirdworldists like him are the loudest cheerleaders for "war against the Satanic West" But when war begins, and US makes its moves, they ask humanity to condemn it? What next? will Sibal ask Modiji to condemn every Russian tank lost in Ukraine?

@theanonlurker More than anything, this is why destruction of Iranian regime is crucial It will give Jew-obsessed Duginists in Kremlin a new purpose after all their idealist friends(Venezuela, Iran, Assad) are gone Then Kremlin will be left with only pragmatic "sane" friends like China, India

@YashVrdn Yeah but idk why India needs a Jet Engine program? China has already developed a Jet Engine on behalf of the Global South. I would say, India doesn't need to industrialize either when there's already a Global South manufacturing giant like China.

I was concerned that GoI might have overplayed its hand and got us dragged (5 years early) into a never-ending conflict by signing a defence pact with UAE and Israel. I was wrong, and this might turn out as one of the best diplomatic decisions taken by India that will come to dominate our external affairs for the coming decades. UAE is the most diversified economy of the GCC, whose entire brand is built upon stability, safety, luxury and grandeur. That was guaranteed through an extremely neutral take in diplomatic affairs, often acting as a bridge between the East and the West. Despite the military relations with the US, its shared air base with USAF in Al Dhafra is nothing compared to what Qatar (CENTCOM HQ), Bahrain (USN 5th Fleet), or Kuwait (Army Logistics mega base) hosts. It wasn't even a direct competitor to Iran like the Saudis and has predominantly relied on the French for air force equipment (and is still the best in the region). And yet yesterday, it got dragged into an active war, became victim to the worst of the drone and missile strikes, had its most iconic structures and key logistical hubs damaged in broad daylight, causing an irreparable damage to its brand. It is true that the day you sign up as a treaty ally you also sign up for the wars that come with it, but UAE did its best to balance the act and yet faced the repercussions worse than its neighbors. This trauma isn't going to fade for the Emirates anytime, and we will soon see the biggest defence build-up of the Gulf that will send Qatar and Saudi into full-blown panic. But another multi-billion acquisition from EU or US isn't going to cut it. It is high time for them to invest and build their own MIC and thus seize the means of production themselves for immediate needs. Israel, despite its renowned multi-layer air defence system, is clearly not able to withstand saturation attacks from Iranian MRBMs. A missile strike near Jerusalem has killed 6 Israelis who were literally in a bomb shelter. It is evident that they are running low on interceptors, and Israel doesn't have the capacity to scale production on its own. Nor can it rely on the US for replenishments because of their global commitments, and its upcoming fight in Taiwan, which will dwarf anything that has ever happened in MENA. Israel will definitely be looking for industrial partners to keep their stocks in permanent surplus, and to deleverage itself from its western partners. India can easily fulfil the needs for both by scaling and manufacturing at the same scale as the Chinese with enough investments. You are witnessing the birth of an alliance that will be bankrolled by UAE, pioneered in research and battlefield finding by Israel, and manufactured and equipped by India. We can even use this opportunity to push all our pending aircraft projects to permanently end dependency on western supply chains, including AMCA, TEDBF/ORCA, HLFT-42, CATS Warrior, Ghatak UCAV, and our planned air defence systems. We have to be extremely careful about Israeli systems though. Jerusalem is very much welcome to manufacture them here, but none of them can come at the cost of IDDM products of India. Acquisitions must be made only when they genuinely fill any operational gap and act as a force multiplier, but nothing that kills the need for an IDDM platform already under development or testing. If done right, this might turn out to be 100 times better than the Saudi-Pak-Turkey pact, or even the much-touted Ukraine-Poland-South Korea partnership. Also not to discount the fact that the first active competitor to the alliance is going to be Turkey, and the first active battlefield will be our proxy support by supplying equipment to Cyprus and Greece against advances made by Ankara. Pakistan will be dealt after that.

Iran's biggest mistake: choosing India over full alignment with China. India sided with Israel and betrayed Iran when it counted. Chinese missiles & drones = Israel destroyed 10×. Advanced anti-ship ballistic missiles = US fleet sunk in Arabian Sea.

Contrary to the gestures and respect that Trump has given to Putin, the current US administration has been far more destructive for Moscow than Biden ever was. CIA now directly provides intelligence to Ukrainian drone teams to hit targets, especially critical components in the oil refineries within Russia. Since weapon transfers are over and now everything is paid by EU for Ukraine, all hands are off from their usage. The Trump administration has also sanctioned the two prominent energy firms of Russia and aggressively went after shadow tankers to stop crude smuggling. Considering that Venezuela is taken care of and Iran might be wrapped up soon, one shouldn't underestimate the willingness of Trump to use NATO assets to push Russia back into the negotiating table and cede to Ukrainian demands. There are several rogue, Russian sponsored regimes in Transnistria, South Ossetia, Abkhazia, and Belarus with a token Russian military presence. If after Iran, Putin still doesn't agree to negotiate in good faith, I won't be shocked if EU convinces Washington DC to go after these easy targets. Americans have already thrown out Russian presence in Armenia and almost converted it into a satellite state. What says that Trump will hold back from a decisive action that promises permanent peace in Europe?
