Starting to think after how unnecessarily difficult today’s reading #sats2023 paper was that the Tories/DFE actively want the children to perform badly, so they can blame ‘striking teachers’ when results come out.
It’s hard not to be cynical about the Tories and education

Ofsted, like the Tories on strike action in education and health, hope to face this down by doing nothing. But it's too late for that. Far, far too late. The hard faced indifference to the disintegration of public services & their staff is a scandal greater than COVID corruption.

So many things wrong -
Ofsted creates a vicious cycle-DfE testing narrows the curriculum, Ofsted narrows what leaders prioritise in schools.
It creates a system where everyone is put under constant pressure.
Our children & staff must come first.
At the moment, they do not.

If you are are a teacher saying you can’t afford to strike, I agree. I also know my dad had 3 kids (me one of them) and went out to strike so you could have your PPA. Imagine not having PPA. He lost wages for that. And you now Benefit as a teacher.
