@pondscience I use Dodds and Whiles as a recommended text for an aquatic ecology course, but don’t require and content is largely weekly readings and lecture notes. I’ll email syllabus!

Favorite #limnology textbook for undergraduates? Bonus points for low cost, clear explanations, + applied examples! (I love Wetzel, but not for undergrads). Also anyone want to share syllabi? (I need to submit course proposal including draft syllabus to teach fall 2020...)

Now imagine if profs were also held accountable to breaking down barriers to help lift and empower the oppressed and marginalized in society, rather than how many academic committees they sit on or number of papers published. The metrics of higher ed need to change #decolonize

I'm fairly strict about not accepting late work, but try to catch problems early enough that someone can recover from missing credit.

I set the tone early, telling students that I have high expectations, but that I'm confident that they can meet them. I also make it clear that I know that they all have life circumstances and I'm committed to advocating for their success.
