I don’t get Jon Bernthal. He must be one of those guys who people just like to work with. Whatever it is he has has never revealed itself to me on camera.

@justin62854365 You haven’t, particularly because my point wasn’t limited to minors but also adults in their home, women are sentenced more harshly for IPV/domestic homicides than men. Your 2 minute googling isn’t sufficient. Go argue with the literature.

@hexprax That's also untrue though sorry, mathematically (i provided you enough numbers to prove you wrong), like i would just suggest making smarter points!

Death row normalizes gender based violence by distinguishing “ordinary” violence like intimate partner homicides and deaths of sex workers from exceptional, “aggravated” violence that is worthy of special punishment.
Glen Runciter@LonesomeWest

Not to be the friend who's too woke, but the bottom line with so much death penalty stuff is just that a lot of progressives don't see violence against women and children as systemic oppression. Abusive men are just random weirdos in their mind, in a way cops or klansmen aren't.

@justin62854365 I think you’re reading it incorrectly. I didn’t say filicide is the most common reason for women to be on death row, I said when a woman commits fillicide she is more likely to receive a capital sentence than when a man commits fillicide.

@hexprax I agree with your premise, the spirit of your argument etc in the first tweet, but the way you wrote this is simply untrue. Women make up 2% of death row inmates, only 20% of those killed their own kids, 2/3 had adult female victims. There's like 1900 men on death row vs 44 women

@PersonalMatthew I think it was an actor made to look like a puppet. False puppet, only left me wanting something real.

@f4z6nxjqvx @JamesKWoke Oops.. inhumane/most cruel, humane/most uncruel. I changes it up a few times to shave off over limit characters and it got mixed up.

@f4z6nxjqvx @JamesKWoke Nope. I don’t see “inhumane” as meaning “most uncruel,” so even if imprisonment was more cruel I would still choose that. There are many practical and philosophical reasons why it’s preferable, which is why death sentences aren’t retained hardly anywhere in the developed world.

@banana_rama__ No, I’m just curious about other people’s ideas. You’re free to think it’s not childish, I don’t have any problem with you disagreeing with me on that.

someone waiting for my argument sounds almost precisely like the sort of person waiting to be swayed. but in any case you are still misunderstanding based on how you seem stuck on “what might happen” - you don’t even have to believe what i think “might happen” to come around to where i originally was. it has nothing to do with it. it’s just not really childish to be concerned with this person’s behavior the way your original tweet characterizes it.

@banana_rama__ Also, shared morals aren't self-justifying. The idea she should perform "solemnity" is a norm just as open to critique as any other. She doesn't have to be Performative in the literal sense to reassure other people that she's taking her job seriously, which she clearly is.

@banana_rama__ Why would I want you to sway me? I think it’s fine we disagree, I was only waiting for you to have an argument beyond “here’s what I imagine might happen based on my surface level understanding” and it never arrived.

haha what do you think was happening here if not that? you’re free to not find it convincing that i think it’s not at all childish to be concerned about norms regardless of your stance on the death penalty, but it’s a good bit to be like - hmph i don’t have to do anything with your opinion and simultaneously say well of course you must give me your opinion to sway me you dunce

@hexprax @LonesomeWest Cool. The guy we are talking about was convicted of his crime and definitely did it lmaoo. Please go look at the women close to you in your life and tell them that you want rapists and pedos to continue living.
