The vibes in DeFi right now are low. But if we take a look back - and really look at how far we have come - I'm still very optimistic. Here is a short history of DeFi that covers the evolution since inception. nookapp.xyz/history-of-defi

Spent the last hour messing around with @stitchbygoogle Takeaways: - Really impressive. Definitely a step up from a lot of other generative UI products out there - At least right now, it still feels more valuable for non-designers - It can get you to 'pretty good' fast, but there’s still a real gap between that and the level of taste, judgment, and craft an S tier designer can bring Even more bullish on design as a function The more people rely on these tools, the more valuable great design becomes Designers still not cooked

iOS developers: How long is App Review taking for everyone these days? It is now taking longer to get our app approved than it is to build the actual features.

Study: Less than 20% of Americans believe AI will have positive outcomes for society. When did pessimism become the default? That’s exactly what will widen the divide. The people who embrace change will build leverage. The people who dismiss it will be left reacting to a future they refused to prepare for.

Any doctor who prescribes a GLP-1 should pair it with a basic weight-training program and higher protein intake.
The HighWire@HighWireTalk

One in eight Americans is currently taking a GLP-1 drug, and the safety picture keeps getting worse. A new study analyzing five years of medical records from over 146,000 adults found GLP-1 users had a 30% higher chance of osteoporosis, a 100% higher chance of osteomalacia, and a 12% higher risk of gout compared to non-users. Researchers aren't yet sure why the drugs may be causing bone loss. It could be nutrient depletion from dramatically reduced appetite, or bones simply adapting to the lower body weight. What they do know is there is no long-term safety data for taking these drugs for 5, 10, or more years. And a separate review published this month found that 60% of lost weight returns within a year of stopping the drug, with projections pointing to a 75% plateau. Researchers are openly wondering whether the weight regained is disproportionately fat, leaving users worse off than when they started. The answer from some health professionals? Stay on the drug forever. Meanwhile, the FDA issued a formal warning letter to Novo Nordisk (the maker of Ozempic and Wegovy) for failing to report deaths to the agency as required. Two deaths were not reported at all. A third, involving a patient who died by suicide, was submitted late and only after an FDA inspection raised the issue. The suicide warning that was previously on semaglutide labels has since been quietly removed. Gastroparesis. Blindness. Bone loss. Gout. Unreported deaths. The chance there are serious mental health risks... This is the drug one in eight Americans is currently taking. Full story by @smiddendorp22 : bit.ly/GLP-1_Osteopor…

Brutal to read And also a reminder that career security is a lot less about how talented you are, and a lot more about how adaptable and visible you are when markets shift A lot of people need to start building that resilience before they need it

AI should increase your ambition. Not decrease it. There will two types of companies going forward: Those with what I’d call a “substitution mindset” replacing humans where possible, compress cost structure. And those with a “leverage mindset”. Augment humans, increase scope per builder, expand product ambition. Historically, the latter produces new categories.

I don’t love always being the AI contrarian. The marketing for this makes it look insane. I tried it and the game it generated was… pretty underwhelming😂 The more interesting use case isn’t one-shotting Pokémon Go. It’s streamlining the App Store submission process.

I’m not convinced Zora’s “Attention Market” will win, not because the idea is bad, but because of execution history. They built strong momentum with creator coins, then pivoted quickly without much clarity. If this new direction is going to work, it needs long-term commitment and stronger trust with creators. Still remember from NFT Marketplace > Creators Coin > Attention Market 👀 cmiiw

We’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about the role AI agents should actually play within a trader’s toolkit. My current take (subject to change) is that agents aren’t reliable enough for sustainable, autonomous trading. What they are good at is synthesis. When fed the right data sources: technicals, positioning, flows, news.. they can help make sense of what’s happening in the market faster than any individual trader can. Internally, we built a layer called Foundry (inspired by @openclaw) that lets us create agents designed to interpret and connect these signals in structured ways. We'll likely eventually open source this as an Openclaw-like agent tailored for crypto. The first use case: Agents that participate directly in Today’s social feed alongside real traders, posting insights and takes on specific markets or sectors. You can interact with them like any other account. Reply. Follow. Trade off their takes. This is just the starting point. So much more to come.
Today@tradeontoday

Agents are coming to Today. We’re building a social trading platform where humans and AI coexist. Posting insights, tracking shifts, connecting dots at machine speed. Humans bring conviction. Agents bring synthesis. Together is where it gets interesting.
