In Chinese medicine, prolonged use of bitter-cold antivirals is thought to drive lingering pathogens deeper rather than eradicate them. Mechanistically, many can directly inhibit microbes while also suppressing the immune machinery needed to clear them. Shikonin and Berberine, for example, can inhibit dendritic-cell metabolism, maturation, and costimulation - reducing inflammation, but potentially promoting immune tolerance and impaired antigen presentation. This convergence between traditional “pathogen entrenchment” and modern APC biology is the subject of my book. Antimicrobials work great for acute pathogens when the host's immune mechanisms are still in tact, but Lingering Pathogens come with a world of complications that must be met with nuance and precision.

Imagine the amount of propaganda it took to convince millions of people that healthcare, food assistance, social programs, clean water, clean air, good wages, housing, equal rights, diversity and a healthy planet for all people was somehow a threat to America and to Christianity.

Massie: "I don't think the problem is that our elections aren't secure because we control the House, Senate, White House, and to some degree we control the Supreme Court. So I ask my Republican colleagues, why are you complaining about election fraud? We won all the damn elections!"

When I heard about Senator Graham’s death last night, the first thing I thought about was not all the things he said and did in service of Donald Trump. I thought of the time before Donald Trump when he was a brother to Senator John McCain. A time when senators from different parties could fight about politics and still be friends. A time when a conservative Republican from South Carolina could say of my father: “If you can’t admire Joe Biden as a person, you’ve got a problem. He’s the nicest person I’ve ever met in politics. As good a man as God ever created.” That is the Senator Graham I will remember today. Not because I have forgotten what came after. Because in that memory there is hope. Hope for a country where brothers can fight like hell over policy and still share a meal, and a laugh, and the loss of the people they love. I will choose to remember the time before Trump. Because I believe in an America after Trump.

Hear me out… Since we’re having such a hard time finding male candidates without a history of abuse, sexual assault, or rape maybe it’s time we started electing more women.

When Vance says "the deep state took down Richard Nixon," he isn't just defending Nixon, he's attacking the idea that Congress, courts, and a free press can check a president who abuses power. The goal is to normalize presidential impunity. For Trump now. Potentially or Vance later.

It's actually mind-boggling that @JDVance would say Watergate would be a "10 hour story" today. Just to review, Nixon's aides authorized a break-in of the DNC HQ to install bugging equipment--in a caper foiled by a night watchman, who called police. They then enlisted the CIA to mislead the FBI that the break-in was related to a probe of malign foreign actors. The entire operation was paid for by a slush fund controlled by the WH. The WH also enlisted the IRS to probe hundreds of Nixon's political enemies. The AG, the WH COS and several other top aides all were convicted and served time for their involvement in the crimes and coverup. Nixon was caught on his own secret tape system conspiring with them but was pardoned a month after he resigned by his successor, Gerald Ford. That Vance thinks this would be a "10 hour story" today speaks volumes about the moral and ethical degradation of the Trump era.

PabloReports: Does Donald Trump get to keep this Qatari jet after the presidency? Raskin: No, he does not. You know why? Because the Constitution says he can’t do it. Because the Constitution says that the president may not receive a present, an emolument—which means a payment, an office or title of any kind—from a king, a prince, or a foreign state without the consent of Congress. And Congress has not consented to him keeping a $400 million jet. So it’s got to be turned over immediately to Congress for disposition. We can either send it back to the people in Qatar, or we can keep it and do something different with it. But it doesn’t belong to the president. You know, Abraham Lincoln, in the middle of the Civil War, wanted to keep some elephant tusks he’d gotten from the King of Siam. He never kept a present before. He wrote a letter to Congress. He said, “Can I keep this?” And Congress said, you know, you’re doing a great job, Honest Abe, and we love you, but no, you can’t keep it. Turn it over to the Department of State. That’s the right way to do it. Every other president has come to Congress to ask whether they can keep one of these foreign gifts from a government, king, or prince. President Trump should be no different. He’s got to come to us too. And if not, we’ll just have to requisition it and confiscate it.

#BREAKING: Velshi: “What if I told you this? The Trump administraction had ALREADY spent 50 TIMES that much in taxpayer money to build his ballroom? What if I told you Trump had already taken $50 billion out of the U.S. treasury and spent it, all as part of what looks very much like a pay to play scheme to finance his vanity project? And I’m not making this up, a brand new report from the government watchdog group Public Citizen looked into the private donors who are supposedly funding the Trump ballroom as a gift. Guess what their investigation found? ‘More than half of the publicly identified donors…have won new or expanded federal contracts worth more $50 billion during the past six months.’ The report also found that most of the same companies are also facing federal enforcement actions over alleged wrongdoing and that some have had such actions suspended by the Trump administration since the start of Trump’s second term.”🙄

BREAKING: Ken Paxton’s own lawyer just endorsed James Talarico: “I defended Ken Paxton for years in the impeachment trial and in state criminal cases. But in my view, I think Ken has lost sight of his core mission, which is to represent the people of Texas.  And unlike Ken, I believe that you, James, believe in unity over division and that you know how to assemble not only Democrats but Independents and Republicans and we need that right now.  We need unity, we don't need any more division and that's why I'm supporting you.”
