If you can't handle trash talk in a video game, then you probably shouldn't be playing one. I've been playing shooters for years and I've heard some absolutely vile shit thrown my way. I'm still here, still playing, and still using my mic. Oh no, someone told me to go make a sandwich or to kill myself. If you genuinely can't handle the stupid shit guys say in games, maybe it's time to step away from multiplayer altogether and actually make a man a sandwich. Sincerely, a female gamer.

@drjenwolkin EMDR was amazing for me. It really helped me with some severe trauma. The issues aren’t gone altogether, I wouldn’t expect them to be, but it was a huge step forward.

@AllisonRFloyd ‘Know it all patients’ when we’re the ones who live in our bodies?! Once, after repeatedly saying my veins are hard to find, I had 3 staff try before giving up and getting an ultrasound to look for veins. I think their ego gets knocked when they can’t do it, so they blame us.

@Carlynotcarley Did we go to the same pain clinic?! Weekly sessions about pacing ourselves and nothing else. I was the youngest by far and the whole thing was just uncomfortable. One of the other patients did try to sell me weed though.

I waited forever for a 'pain clinic' which was a group session with a bunch of people all at least 40 years older than me that consisted of them telling us to pace ourselves .

I waited over six months for a referral to a clinic that promised to use a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to help manage my pain (which is so bad, I get breakthrough pain on high doses of morphine). They offered CBT and breathing exercises. That was it.

it took 18+ years to diagnose me with very obvious adhd because any time i would need to sit still and focus as a kid I would behave impeccably. Only just now remembered that it was bc i convinced myself that that was just B roll footage for the docu series id obviously star in so id sit still and look pensive for hours when i was bored waiting for the right shot where lighting was perfect

He replied ‘but at what cost?’ Those 4 words changed my outlook a lot. Yes, I can achieve things, but the rest of my life gets fucked in the process!

People who don’t have kids are shocked by this but babies and toddlers usually love tinned sardines, shellfish, etc. The only “healthy” thing they have a notable universal aversion to are bitter brassicas like broccoli and kale which we’ve been propagandized into thinking are nutritional powerhouses and which in reality don’t do much besides stress out your digestion. It really makes you consider the possibility that most toddlers, having nearly unmediated access to the immediate sensory experience of food, have a better understanding of what they should be eating than we do.
