This is why coach indicators required at #Palghar. No one knows where train will stop, chaos while arrival of today's 09412.We are demanding coach indicators since couple of years but no one bother to take it seriously. Does @WesternRly @drmbct waiting for some mishap ? @Gmwrly

It’s the news millions of daily commuters beyond Virar have been praying for! The dreaded Narangi Fatak located just ahead of Virar station—the ultimate test of patience for motorists and train commuters alike—may finally be closing its gates soon.  With a gradient and a hump, the LC gate with one of the highest TVUs is a place where tankers and lorries get stranded every now and then, detaining and delaying local & national rail traffic. @Central_Railway has terminated HWH CSMT train at Dadar and is taking locals on pf 11. Dadar Ratnagiri is a problem but HWH CSMT sitting on mainline is not.

15-car & more trains for Dahanu. With local train trials done on Sunday, platforms are now upgraded to handle 15-coach locals, trains on the Virar–Dahanu stretch. WR has planned to run from Virar eight 15-car trains to Dahanu along with seven to Churchgate. But that’s only half the story. With the near completion of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), WR officials said they will be able to take about 30 freight trains off the mainline everyday creating more space for passenger trains in the same stretch.

A Major leap in service Upgrade of @WesternRly Suburban Network, Upgrading 17 Services from 12 Coach Rake to 15 Coach ones. Seems just another routine upgrade?🤔 But what makes this much much HEAVY is, of those 17, *8 Will be Fo DAHANU* 😍😍. 4 PAIRS OF DAHANU LOCALS TO BE *UPGRADED* TO 15C SERVICE this Month, APRIL 2026🔥 This comes just 1 day after a successful trial was conducted on Upgraded Virar Platform 3A to fir 15C Trains collaboratively by @MrvcLtd and @WesternRly. 🔥🔥😍 PF3A and 4A of Virar were the only Platforms of Virar, and might be the Only platforms of entire WR Suburban network (Except Dadar PF4) that were limited to 12C capacity. That's @MrvcLtd and @WesternRly for you folks. This was unprecedented to be seen too early. While Virar PF3A would be rolled into service with the new upgrade to Dahanu locals, 4A will be extended southward in the coming few months, to become capable to Handle 15C trains. One of the most important project finally completed. Easing freight traffic from western railways mainline

A proud and historic moment for DFCCIL! The successful trial run of freight trains marks the completion of the entire Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) on 31st March 2026, with operations carried out on the JNPT–New Saphale (Vaitarna) section. A container train in the down direction (JNPT → New Saphale) departed at 11:50 hrs, hauled by an electric locomotive, while in the up direction (New Saphale → JNPT), a container train also departed at 11:50 hrs, powered by a diesel locomotive. Conducted under the leadership of Sh. Praveen Kumar, MD/DFCCIL, this trial run signifies the operational readiness of the critical 102 km balance section of the WDFC. It marks a major milestone towards commissioning the corridor for freight operations and demonstrates that the newly commissioned high-rise electrified, high-capacity double-line infrastructure is fully prepared for seamless and efficient movement of goods. The occasion was graced by Sh. Shobhit Bhatnagar, Director/OP&BD; Sh. Anurag Sharma, Director/Infrastructure; Sh. M. K. Awasthy, ED/Infrastructure; Sh. Sandesh Srivastava, ED/Projects; Sh. Vikas Srivastava, GGM/S&T; Sh. Ran Vijay Singh, GGM/Electrical; Sh. Amit Saurastri, GM/CC; and Sh. H. G. Tiwari, CGM/Mumbai, along with other senior officers and the dedicated DFCCIL team. This achievement will add a new chapter to India’s logistics landscape—unlocking faster port connectivity, enhancing supply chain efficiency, and enabling greener, more reliable freight movement. The full commissioning of WDFC marks a transformative step in strengthening the nation’s logistics backbone and accelerating economic growth. With uninterrupted end-to-end connectivity now established, train operations will become significantly more efficient, requiring fewer sets (2 sets) of crew between New Makarpura and New JNPT due to reduced operational handovers and streamlined running. Additionally, freight trains will experience a reduction of nearly four hours in transit time, enabling faster turnaround of rolling stock, improved asset utilization, enhanced schedule reliability, and greater capacity for handling increased freight volumes. #DFCCIL #WDFC #FreightCorridor #JNPT #LogisticsRevolution #RailInfrastructure #NewIndia #Milestone
