Why didn't I ever do "choice" assignments before for novels and independent reading books. The 5th graders are rocking this create a game choice.

My teacher 💛 was bursting Friday! Every single 5th & 6th grade student had an independent reading book, physically or on EPIC and they chose a spot where they could be successful. 20min of uninterrupted reading time and not one went to the bathroom either-lol! Fully immersed!

I need some input from teachers. What does your school do for planners/student passes? Do you feel the students use them effectively? What works well at your school? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! #studentplanners

Last question. Period. What is your topic for the TLA conference? Who are you presenting with? After you share, feel free to enjoy your evening. #tlamultidistrict

I like how we have talked about “quick win” strategies that we can use. Today, I loved seeing all of the Wyndmere Teachers wearing their jeans and Warbird head because it not only showed our school pride, but it also showed the teachers who took our survey! #tlamultidistrict

@theresa_wittich Yes! I'm thinking we are in a place where parents and community members feel more comfortable with voicing their opinions and conversing with teachers. #tlamultidistrict

I am really hoping we can build a culture of more openness between the school and the community. Keeping the open dialogue will help everyone! #tlamultidistrict

@FaithRieger @CorySteiner10 We are in the same boat! We have a brand new principal this year and he's so open to new ideas, but we need to get to a place of consistency.

I loved everything about the Tate book. It’s awesome to have all those strategies in book so when I think of something - it’s at my finger tips. I will commit to using this book WAY more. #TLAmultidistrict

@Brileydawn I NEED to get better at using more movement, but sometimes I forget how much we do move. It needs to be more purposeful in my classroom.

@smstrenge @kristareadel I loved listening to everyone's podcasts. I would like to start a podcast with students next year. Do a weekly check-in with my students; especially since we are departmentalizing next year and I'll have 3-6 students.

@kristareadel Without some of these assignments this year, I would have never used Podcast, Twitter, or Zoom. I'm excited to learn more. #tlamultidistrict

I plan to implement more of the technology piece such as recording my lessons and doing a lot of more flipped classroom style. #tlamultidistrict

@FaithRieger @kristareadel I also love the idea of allowing my students to tinker around with coding and other techy stuff that they'll possibly use in a future occupation.
