Glitch Productions says that any ‘DIGITAL CIRCUS’ series finale theaters they cancelled or refused were due to security concerns. The studio says that leaks can happen as a distributor wanted an email of the raw video file so they could then mail it to ratings agencies by post.

@RainbowCraftz It was not the raw file Korea asked for, it was DCP, which is standard procedure for every film. It's encrypted and cannot be watched unless Glitch unlocked it. Avatar was leaked by hacking the server, not by the rating committee.

@ShadowArchivist @RainbowCraftz Being cautious and being paranoid is different. Every film screened in Korea followed these procedures but there has never been a leak, why would Glitch be worrying? Do they don't trust Koreans?

@RainbowCraftz Let's also not forget that Spindlehorse has a constant problem with leaks from the Hazbin early-access premiere to the Season 2 Bible being posted online. Glitch has a right to be cautious. Leaking is a serious problem.

‘The Amazing Digital Circus: Last Act’ Korean theatrical release has reportedly been canceled after Korean distributor SBM&E claims Glitch Productions abruptly terminated the contract mid-process. Fans are now demanding answers from Glitch, while legal action has been filed in Seoul to reverse the cancellation.

@glitch_prod I understand the concerns about potential leaks but please really reconsider the cinema release in Korea. Korea is known to have very little leaks when it comes to cinemas. There is a reason why many Hollywood movies are shownn in Korea faster than anywhere else.

If there’s been any theatre cancellations or an inability to enter a region, we want you to know that we’ve been trying our best. There’s ratings compliance, security policy and legal rules specific to EACH country and theatre chains that we are trying to navigate around the clock. Some regions are straight up rejecting our distribution because there are censorship laws and we refuse to change the original vision of this show. In other regions, there are laws that say we can’t due to how close it is to its streaming release. Any cancellations or refusals have been due to security concerns. For example, one distributor wanted us to email them the raw video file so they could then mail it to ratings agencies by post. This is how leaks happen and we take this very seriously.  This however, does not mean we aren’t still trying relentlessly to enter these regions. We also want this finale to be accessible in as many countries as possible. Thank you all for helping the TADC finale get this far.

The situation in Korea is quite hopeless. Along with the contract with the distributor being broken, Glitch has completely canceled the Korean release, so we no longer have any opportunities left.

Up until now, licensing negotiations between Korea and Glitch had already been completed, and discussions with domestic theaters were nearly finalized. However, on the same day, we suddenly received notice from Glitch that they would terminate the contract.
