His main areas for opportunity were impacting enough contests and accumulation. Sadly there has been little meaningful improvement in those areas during his 111* games at Essendon. I hope he stays, but it wouldn’t shock me if he chases a better system somewhere else, one with the right system and development to unlock his best. 🟥⬛️

@pauljames1968 Just add him to the list of senior players that have gone backwards, Redman, Langford, Caldwell, etc. Our development is non existent, not just for our kids but also for our senior players. Changes are needed right across the board.

What is all of this James Hird paranoia about? Personally I’d select him immediately. He’s an outstanding candidate with great experience and knowledge. Hinkley wouldn’t compete with Hird that’s why he’s taking his precious stance. Hinkley and Simpson are trying to manipulate the process. Just make a decision…..one is yes I’m in the other is no I’m not. You can’t have it both ways by saying I’ll nominate if you delete Hirds application. I’m a Hird fan. Couldn’t give a stuff about the past (which is a whole suspicious story in itself by AFL) I’m only interested in the very best person to lift the club out of the mire and return it to respect and success - and that’s James Hird.
