🚨💣 Samuel Eto’o has opened up about the harsh reality he faced when he arrived in Spain at just 16 years old. “When I traveled to Spain at 16 years old, no official or associate of Real Madrid came to pick me up at Barajas Airport. I was a bit scared until I spoke with an African street sweeper who worked there; he told me that if I waited for him to finish his work shift, he would take me to the club. To this day, I still keep in touch with him. I hold no grudge against Real Madrid; on the contrary, that experience helped me grow, to realize that no one was going to hand me anything in my career.”

Malawi has to start building at least 2-storey houses/apartments. It's wild that the housing crisis we are facing now in our major cities will even skyrocket in 2-3 years.

The fomer President of the Republic of Congo #DRC🇨🇩, Joseph Kabange Kabila, 54, suggests that he helped manipulate 2018 election results to favor President Felix Tshisekedi and deny Martin Fayulu an opportunity to lead the country. “We, in our very wise way of thinking, we thought in order for the situation to continue to be as stable as it was, it was important for the president to have the majority and for there to be a coalition,” he says. “And that’s the agreement that was signed.” Seven years later, Kabila says that he has some regrets. “You can play games with quite a lot of things, but one of those should not be the leadership of a country,” he says. “With hindsight, those are things that we could and should have changed.” The relationship between Kabila and Tshisekedi soured quickly. Kabila went into self-imposed exile in South Africa. He returned to Congo after M23’s takeover of Goma last year. Asked why he came back. “I’m home,” he says. “The real question is, why am I not in Kinshasa?” He was convicted of treason and sentenced to death in absentia last year, accused of covertly leading M23, the militia now occupying Goma. Kabila says he was living under the protection of M23 — rebels he fought in office — simply because it controls Goma. He calls Tshisekedi’s government institutions illegitimate. “Trying to link the rebellion to Mr. Kabila is just stupidity,” he adds. Source: @nytimes

When Tanzanians are not calling their country Malawi, they use Venezuela or Afghanistan. It gives them plausible deniability if the government tries to arrest them for “incitement”

The EFF’s Statement Reaffirming Role of COGTA in Determining Traditional Leaders Amidst Violent Protests in KuGompo, Eastern Cape -The EFF therefore condemns the alleged “coronation” of a foreign King in the Eastern Cape, and calls for calm in KuGompo, while encouraging government and traditional leaders to communicate clearly the conditions that allow for the recognition of royalty in our country, in order to take South Africans into confidence. We further condemn all political parties and actors who have been involved in the destruction of properties in KuGompo, and those who have harmed civilians in an effort to score cheap political points from a situation that did not warrant violence.

@cchukudebelu Iran really showed they can hit hard. 🇮🇷🇸🇦 But I believe USA will go ahead with the extended on-ground conflict, even if it means financial setbacks. Also, USA control over Iran will mean squeezing China 🇨🇳 of its oil supplies.

Seen the comments on SKC kid’s body. This is a young man who father whose life was centre stage of this country & for a year at least I doubt that family was given any time to grieve. And him being a man probably worse for him because he is the one society deems has to be strong
