BREAKING: Rep. Greg Casar demolishes Trump's Education Secretary with a stunning fact — Trump's $1 billion ballroom could instead buy 217,391,304 lunches for American children.
That's enough to provide 1 million students with lunch for an entire year!
But apparently, those children must go hungry because Trump needs a gaudy ballroom in which he can wine, dine, and dance with the Epstein class.
And Casar wasn't done there...
"Can you tell me how much, more or less, it costs to give a child free lunch at a public school?" Casar asked Linda McMahon during a congressional hearing.
"Well, the Department of Education does not control, that's not part of our budget," she replied.
"I know, but when the USDA does that funding, it's about $4.60 for a school lunch," Casar said. "Do you know about how much the average school teacher makes at a public school per year?"
"That varies across different states, anywhere from 40-some thousand to 90-some thousand," said McMahon.
"Yeah, that's right, it's about $64,000 on average nationwide," said Casar. "So here's an easy one because it's all over the news. Can you tell us how much Congress is being asked to vote on next week for President Trump's ballroom?"
"I don't know that answer," she claimed.
"It's a billion dollars!" said Casar. "And you're a businesswoman, so I'm hoping you can help me do some math here. $4.60 for a school lunch, a billion dollars for a ballroom, can you tell me about how many free school lunches that billion dollars could pay for?"
"It is my understanding on the ballroom, excuse me, and I've heard the President say this, the taxpayer dollars will not be used to build a ballroom, that they are donations from private enterprise," said McMahon, who was either intentionally lying or drawing on obsolete information.
Casar quickly corrected her on the matter. Republicans have stuffed $1 billion for the ballroom project into the party-line GOP bill, adding taxpayer funding on top of the private donations.
"And so for those billion dollars in taxpayer dollars at $4.60 a lunch, that is 217,391,304 lunches," said Casar. "That's lunch for more than a million kids, a million Americans for the entire school year. But let's say that we're not going to talk about lunches because that's USDA..."
"We can talk about teachers," said Casar. "At $64,000 a year, do we know how many new teachers we could hire if we sent a billion dollars out to the states for reducing class sizes and hiring more teachers?"
"I'm sure you have that number," said an irritated McMahon.
"Yes, it is 15,000 more teachers," said Casar. "Or we could pay for the Office of Civil Rights that's being cut in this budget seven times over. I think you get the point. So here's my real question here..."
"As Secretary of Education, which do you think helps our nation more?" he asked. "Getting free lunch to more than a million more kids, 15,000 more teachers, or the ballroom?"
"I think those are incredibly weird comparisons," said McMahon, unable to provide a real answer.
The simple truth is that Republicans don't care about our education system. They know that the rich, who they serve, can just pay for high quality private schools without feeling any financial sting.
Meanwhile, the children of the poor and middle class are saddled with public schools that are underfunded and understaffed. But that has an added benefit for MAGA as well. A less educated populace is easier to control and distract with culture war garbage. Education itself is a threat to the conservative political project.
Please ❤️ and share to demand that the ballroom money be spent on our children instead!

@theTSupdates I repeat people forget how big of a risk 1989 was for Taylor's image, it was a case of hit or miss no in betweens. She knew she had to go hard on that album and did! She ate every single track up.
