@EwenDCameron It's been so widely condemned because so many people wanted to see the fairytale ending. There's been worse VAR decisions than this one ffs which proves my point. McAusland dived with no contact at all v Livi for a pen and VAR upheld it. No uproar then. Why? No fairytale story

This season has been an utter embarrassment and last night was the tipping point.
I’ve never seen a decision, in Scottish football, to be so widely condemned and this should be a watershed moment for our national game
All fans should unite against Temu VAR and the poor refereeing standards.
And before anyone says it….YES….I’m very aware that Hearts have benefitted from some poor decisions this season.
However, we need to look at the bigger picture here and demand change.

Answer - It did.
Now the reaction will be about the hand position, did Trusty push his arm up, is there ENOUGH contact, and on, and on it goes.
VAR should be scrapped, but this is far from the 'horrendous' decision it's built as.

Why is a crowded headed clearance turned into a free shot at goal from 12-yards?!

Can We Change the Handball Rule? I feel for something as severe as a penalty, the punishment has to fit the crime: > A Deliberate Handball Offence > Blocking a Goalbound Shot (Deliberate or Not) For other offences, could we start to introduce Indirect FK's: > Crossing into Crowded Areas > Shots Going Off Target > Headers Going Away from Goal The attacking team still get some advantage and the defending team are penalised but it feels like the punishment fits the crime a little better... Thoughts?

I understand the emotion around a huge penalty decision in a massive game. Football does that to people.
But at some point emotion has to give way to evidence. When freeze frames, angles and clear contact are sitting right in front of us, denying it because it doesn’t suit your team or narrative just kills any honest debate.
What’s even worse is when professionals and pundits, who know the game inside out, deliberately drive a narrative to suit an agenda rather than analyse what’s actually in front of them. That only fuels tribalism and misinformation.
You can debate consistency. You can debate interpretation. But you can’t just ignore unrefutable evidence because it’s inconvenient. Football discussion is far better when honesty matters more than point scoring.
