I see a lot of people in CFB applauding this move. It reads like a petulant child storming off angry. People bent over backwards to allow Notre Dame to retain independence and still be part of the system. You don’t get to take your ball and go home when it doesn’t go your way.

This is absolutely the right move. Getting embarrassed in a bowl game against BYU would be really hard on the program. Much smarter to avoid playing tough teams so you can keep your brand intact.

I’m old enough to remember when going to a legit bowl game was an amazing time for the kids.
