Agree with you deano. However they were too Weak to do it in the off season
Dean Ritchie@BulldogRitchie

@Iliadis_g @SeaEagles It’s only round two, mate. Yes, it’s frustrating but you can’t sack a coach after two games of a season. Let Seibs try and dig the club out of this

Overheard in Parliament: "People are being killed. We have to do something" "What about a shark ban?" "We can't ban them. That's insane." "But we have to do something" "Okay. What about a shark registry?" "Nah. Too costly. Also, there are legitimate shark uses" "Limit on sharks near beaches?" "How will we enforce that?" "Let's chuck a few hundred million at a new shark agency" "We already have 12 departments that look after fish" "I don't think a shark is a fish" "Oh? I thought it was" "It kinda is, but it's made of cartilage" "Oh you mean like Albo?" [sniggers around the table] "Guys. Focus. I'm going on 7.30 tonight" "Okay. How about...." "If you say shark buyback..." "Never mind" "Guys I've got it. We ban a very specific type of shark that nobody has heard of and we add in a bunch of other legislation that we've been sitting on for 12 months" "Like that climate stuff Klaus wanted?" "Yeah but we give it a really cool name like the "Stop People Being Eaten Alive Act 2026" "But won't they notice the fine detail" "Not if we give them 48 hours to review it" "Yessss....... And let's drop it on Australia Day too" "Wait. Does this mean we have to come back into work again before Australia Day?" "Look, sharks are very big in the news right now and if people are blaming sharks for killing people on beaches instead of blaming the people up the road from Tony Burke's electorate...." "Brilliant" "Wait. If we start messing with ocean creatures won't the Greens get upset?" "Nah. Just tell them we're banning Jewfish as well" "Great. All those in favour?"

A very powerful note and well written.
Josh Frydenberg@JoshFrydenberg

Today the former Chief Justice of the High Court Robert French, former head of the Australian Secret Intelligence Service (ASIS) Nick Warner, former Queensland Premier Peter Beattie, former Federal Labor minister Mike Kelly & Labor Senator Nova Peris, 100 Senior Counsel and current Labor MPs Mike Friedlander and Ed Husic joined the Jewish community and the Coalition in a growing chorus of legal, political, security and civil leaders calling for an urgent Commonwealth Royal Commission into the Bondi massacre.  I urge the Prime Minister to heed this message and announce a Royal Commission now.  It's illogical for the Prime Minister to say "we want urgency and unity, not division and delay" in dismissing a Royal Commission.  Prime Minister you have been delaying taking strong action for the last two and half years. If you want to use alliteration then what we want is accountability and action and not a Prime Minister who is in denial but one who shares our despair. Mr French's words today were powerful and pertinent. He described what needs to be done as a "moral imperative" saying "there is no requirement for governments to put on hold their responses to the (Bondi) attack pending the provision of reports by the Royal Commission. The events at Bondi Beach require a whole of Australia response which transcends politics and which by its very independence generates a powerful force for change." Mr Warner said "at the heart of the horror and tragedy of Bondi lies antisemitism, allowed to fester and grow through years of inaction. This must be addressed and acted on, and a carefully mandated Royal Commission would play an important role." In the days since Australia's deadliest ever terrorist attack, we have heard too many excuses from our Prime Minister and his senior Ministers. We have been told 'you can't legislate against hate'; we have been told 'anti-semitism didn't begin in 2022'; we have been told that it comes to the threat  'we are dealing with a circle of two'; we have been told the priority is a gun buy back not the radicalism in our midst; and now we are told we can't have a Royal Commission because it will lead to 'delays' in the response. Each excuse only compounds the pain of the last week and underscores the need for the Government to take urgent, unprecedented and strong action to secure the safety of all Australians.

That’s a Wrap – Team TDR Recap 📅 Week ending 16 November 2025 ⸻ It was a very good week for Team TDR, and with a bit more luck it could have been an outstanding one 2 wins four 2nds three 3rds and a 6th from 10 starters. The team continues to build momentum at the right time, and we’re gearing up for a big Finals Day next Saturday at Morphettville. We’re excited to have runners on the big stage. ⸻ 🥇 Shisuta Bo – 1st (MRPK 1550m) Perfect ride by Caitlin — judged it superbly. Flying this prep. 🥇 Night Cruiser – 1st (SBYN 1600m) Settled well and let down strongly. Dominant win. 🥈 Beautiful Jewel – 2nd (MRPK 1550m) Good run and boxed on, just didn’t finsh off as strong as we hoped. 🥈 Swiftie Harriet – 2nd (MRPK 1250m) Caught wide throughout but still fought hard. Terrific effort. 🥈 Capulet – 2nd (MRPK 2250m) Stayed bravely. Took a very good one to beat her. Great ride by Benny 🥈 See Ya Later Baby – 2nd (BKVA 1400m) Tight finish. Big return and will improve again. 🥉 Been Our Angel – 3rd (MRPK 1000m) Rolled forward and stuck on. Honest as ever. Great return to racing 🥉 Oak Park Maddison – 3rd (SBYN 1350m) Learning each run and hitting the line well. 🥉 By The Book – 3rd (BKVA 1600m) Held up but closed strongly once clear. Ready to win. ⚔️ Sir Myka – 6th (MRPK 1250m) Still learning and did plenty wrong early, costing him late. ⸻ 👏 Special congratulations to Caitlin Tootell on riding her first metropolitan double this week — a fantastic achievement. She’s now rapidly closing in on 100 career winners, a milestone well deserved. ⸻ A big thank-you to our staff, riders, and owners. The stable is in great order heading into Finals Day. 📲 travisdoudleracing.com.au #TeamTDR #ThatsAWrap #TravisDoudleRacing #RacingSA #BackYourTeam

I like it. Talau was not going to add a lot of value.
George@Iliadis_g

@SeaEagles Is he better than Talau? This is an odd signing, especially when we are short in the engine room.

🚨 WINNER ALERT – TEAM TDR 📅 Saturday, 18 October 2025 📍 Morphettville – South Australian Jockey Club 🌤️ Track: Good 3 | Distance: 1050m 🐎 WIGGUM (Ralph) 👨‍✈️ Rider: Ben Price | ⚖️ 60kg 💥 Result: 1st of 7 – Peter Elberg Funerals Handicap (Heat of Sportsbet Gytrash Series) 💬 Wiggum (Ralph) produced a barn-storming finish to claim the 1050m Gytrash Series Heat at Morphettville, capping off a Doudle Metro Double following Golden Horizon’s earlier win. Settling back off the speed, he travelled beautifully throughout before peeling three-wide on the turn. Once balanced, he unleashed a powerful sprint — diving late to snatch victory right on the post in 0:59.98, running an explosive last 600m in 32.82, the quickest of the meeting. It was a brilliant first-up performance from a horse who’s clearly come back in outstanding order. The team couldn’t be more excited to see where this prep takes him. ⸻ 💬 Trainer’s Comment “That was a huge return. He relaxed perfectly in behind them, travelled strongly, and when Ben got him into clear air he really exploded. To come from back and grab them late like that shows how well he’s come back. It’s great to see him firing — and to get a metro double with Golden Horizon makes it even sweeter.” — Travis Doudle ⸻ 💚 Congratulations to all owners and connections on a fantastic result. 🙏 A big thank you to our staff and riders — another terrific team effort. 📲 travisdoudleracing.com.au #TeamTDR #WinnerAlert #Wiggum #Ralph #GoldenHorizon #DoudleDouble #MorphettvilleRaces #TravisDoudleRacing #RacingSA #BackYourTeam #WinningFeeling #GytrashSeries
