で、日本491万円。
しかもこの数字でも「平均」だから、体感ではもっと低い人も多い。
物価も税金も社会保険料も上がってるのに、給料だけ世界から置いていかれてる。
そりゃ生活が楽にならないわけだよね。

I always make small talk with one Japanese lady at work. Never asked her about it but she always had a foreign last name in katakana on her name plate, but then this week I noticed her name was changed to a Japanese name.
The autism in me really makes me want to ask, “hey so did someone get divorced?” Lmao

Yen exchange rate now back to 160 yen / USD
I am not hugely affected by the exchange rate but trips back to the US with my family now easily cost close to 1m yen just for flight tickets.
I told my boomer parents last year that if they want to see their only grandchildren (all my other siblings are in their 30s and are childless and unmarried) they should just come to Japan to visit. Past few years, they've come to visit this and has been a better arrangement: cheaper and I get to avoid the disaster of traveling with young kids on an airplane
