Sometimes its frustrating having a PhD in Carbohydrate biochemistry and watching the world argue about carbs. Low carb, 52, 10-20km runs in the morning/ heavy weight workout in the evening - 6x/week. You really don't need carbs - have them, I won't judge, but non essential.

Triglycerides are fats circulating in the blood. It used to be thought that these Trigs came from fats you eat, but it turns that that carbohydrates are what turn into blood fats. So makes sense that reducing carbs reduces triglycerides,

Turns out that because the body can break the Glycerol backbone off Triglyceride molecules to make Glucose & thru Gluconeogenesis can convert amino acids into this same sugar (Glucose), Carbohydrate is 100% unnecessary from diet. Not saying carbs are bad but you’ve been lied to

Ironic since best rugby team in world @AllBlacks have reduced their carb intake over past 5 years; @EnglandRugby also. @LFC as well. Diet is about 24hr/day health and high nutrient density to speed up recovery. Hi carb foods don't do that. Not just about doing anaerobic sprints.

@ProfTimNoakes @KearsneyNews A school here in NZ did that as they were a boarding school and being fed a lot of rubbish but the 1st XV coach blasted the policy and said his boys needed carbs to fuel them for the game.....regardless of fat vs carbs for fuel, last time I checked rugby was an anaerobic sport
