Running the metabolomics course again in Cambridge, nice to see the sun shine! All ready to start

Very pleased to see my most recent application for field trials of GM camelina at @Rothamsted has been approved by @DefraGovUK for another 4 years. Over 60 genes and 10 different promoters to test the optimal combinations providing a sustainable terrestrial source of fish oils.

Fantastic day learning and teaching about algal scale-up at the Cambridge University Algal Innovation Centre, great to see our CCAP strains growing so well in Cambridge! @plantsci @EITFood @matis @FraunhoferIGB @SAMSoceannews @scienceisnotfun

Sunny but cold evening, nearly full team picnic on the SAMS beach to say bon voyage to our visiting snow algae PhD student Alex from Norway, and to celebrate the new promotion to Associate Professor! @SAMSoceannews @CCAP_Oban @ThinkUHI

Isn't it exciting that the UN is developing a Plankton Manifesto to raise the profile of plankton globally? Our lives would be very different without plankton and it's time they get the love they deserve! Follow our work at @Plkt_Manifesto . 🪼🪼🪼🪼🪼

WOW. What an amazing week! Delighted to see such an outstanding progress at our #NanoporeHackathon on Unleashing Real-Time Long-Read Analytics this week. Big thanks to the interdisciplinary group of exceptional participants and speakers who made the event an absolute success.

Now is the time for me to focus on finishing the PhD. To do the last missing experiments/revisions and to finish writing the manuscripts, which I am really excited to share with everyone soon.

I am a bit late for recap of 2023, but still here it is: I had the chance to give talks and present posters about my different PhD projects at 2 conferences last year. I am so thankful for all the feedback and good suggestions from the community which I got there. Thank you all!

Happy to share our new paper in @NewPhyt tinyurl.com/5f2jwhvp. Sampling from sea to the lab 🌊🧫, our study reveals bacterial pathogenicity towards diatoms is more prevalent than previously recognized! Huge thanks to all involved @laura_brans @thembauk @UniofExeter @sea_bugs

Here's the power of plant biotechnology, writ large! 50 acres of our omega-3 camelina making EPA. Amazing to think we made the first plant 8 years ago and now there's 50 million of them in a (big) field in Chile. Proud to have got this far, great collaboration with @Yield10Bio
