the reason most ai videos sound fake has nothing to do with the voice quality. it's the audio environment. real videos have 4 audio layers happening simultaneously. ai videos have 1. here's the full stack i use for every client video now. layer 1. the voice. elevenlabs or minimax. this is what everyone focuses on and it's maybe 30% of why something sounds real or fake. layer 2. room tone. this is the big one. every real room has ambient noise. air conditioner hum, distant traffic, fridge buzz, general "air." i keep a folder of 15 room tone samples (recorded them myself in different environments. kitchen, bedroom, office, car, coffee shop). drop one under every voice at -18db. instant realism. layer 3. handling noise. when someone holds a phone and talks there's micro-friction sounds from their hands shifting on the case. subtle fabric rustling. i layer these at -24db under ugc style content. most people can't consciously hear it but they feel the difference. layer 4. mouth sounds. breathing between sentences. the little "wet" sounds when someone opens their mouth to speak. elevenlabs has gotten better at this but it's still not enough. i splice in real breath samples at natural pause points. takes about 8 extra minutes per video to add layers 2-4. the conversion rate difference between a "clean" ai voice and a fully layered one is significant enough that i stopped testing without it.

if you’re an ecomm brand and you’re not testing: ad > pdp ad > advertorial > pdp ad > advertorial > pdp > rtg listicle > pdp ad > sales page ad > low ticket FE > upsell ad > quiz funnel > personalised offer page ad > vsl > offer page ad > listicle > pdp rtg ad > product demo vsl > pdp …every month… what are you doing

gathering data isn’t a waste of money. but let’s say you test 1 a month for a year, and your competitor only does 1 every 6 months. you’ve got 12 funnels, working round the clock at varying awareness levels that the audience can consume and enjoy. they’ve only got 2. everytime they see a competitor ad it’s the same experience. every time they see your ad it’s targeting a different layer with a different experience. the customer understands their problem much deeper and they trust you more for showing them multiple ways of looking at it. some may work well so you keep them and optimise as you go, some may work better than you initially thought then you find what works best and double down

@knownresident customer needs more touch points today in most markets, these structures allow that but if you’re changing things without a heatmap then yea valid. the data rarely lies so it’s good to be guided on what to actually adjust
