@spacepunk @smolderingwurm @strangestloop My sleep issues w/ IH but also possible N1 are on top of n24 and ADHD, former Lyme sufferer, hypermobility, possible dysautonomia, the whole clustered shebang. Seriously, seeing this conversation has brought me a lot of hope I’m not alone here & we’re almost at a breakthrough.

@spacepunk @smolderingwurm @strangestloop I want to cry I feel SO SEEN, thank you so much for posting about this. I suspect I’m N1 but have 2x been dx’d w/ IH. I struggle bad w/ muscle weakness when stressed, have even had full body collapses YET the sleep doc I’m seeing doesn’t believe I have it. It’s so frustrating.

ok so this is actually true — orexin is produced in the hypothalamus and plays a part in wakefulness & energy regulation two orexin agonists (marketed for narcolepsy) have completed Phase 2 (Alixorexton) & Phase 3 (Oveporexton) trials & just recently got Breakthrough Therapy Designation & Priority Review, respectively this means Overporexton might be in the market by end of this year and another investigational (ALKS 7290) has finished Phase 1 specifically for ADHD

If all the tiktok ADHD girls got together with the chinese peptide twitter boys, they would realize that this is a specific condition called orexin timing mismatch. Orexin (also called hypocretin) is the peptide responsible for motivation.

Im so fucking excited about people finding out about orexin's role in other conditions like ADHD because so long as it was relegated to an issue for a rare disease (narcolepsy) that conveniently makes its sufferers pretty unemployable, and thus theres no financial incentive to cure it, we were kinda fucked

We used to have these. They were called Apartment Hotels. They’d consist of a single room with a bathroom, housecleaning, a cafeteria and lounges. Imagine being able to rent month to month and not need to furnish an apartment. It was ideal. Nuts we got rid of these.

Lots of people's social & romantic lives could be vastly improved if it was normal for young adults to live in college dorm-style accommodation in city centres until they were ready to set up home properly. Why doesn't this exist? I think there would be a market for it!

I don’t normally push my culture on ppl but this year I’m texting all my American friends to remind them that the Earth has just begun a new cycle around the sun and that Persians formalized this moment as Nowruz (beginning a new year at the spring equinox) over 2,500 years ago.
