@BrightonHoveCC Can we just use weed killer - used in a contained way it’s not an environmental risk. Meanwhile the funds saved doing this can be used to do positive planting of wild flowers etc in other areas across the city

We’re reviewing how we maintain pavements across the city and have recently trialled new machinery to help with weeding.
This includes mechanical sweepers, weed rippers and specialist strimmers with weed ripping brushes.

@British_Airways I'll give it a go but in my experience I just end up dealing with an automated queuing system. You have a policy that children under-12 can't be seated alone and yet you allocate me 4 seperated seats when I am travelling with two children who (by your rules) can't be seated alone

@saveHOVE @GMBSussexBranch @Phelimmac If drivers want to leave to work elsewhere for better pay and conditions they should, let the market find a solution as the council will have to pay more to retain the remainders and recruit replacements. But that’s quite different from taking industrial action.

We have been raising these issues for over nine weeks or more vehicles haven’t been going out hence the reason why collections haven’t happened before the strike that’s the evidence Plus there has been media coverage on it before the strike

@GMBSussexBranch I’d love to see the evidence that you not being difficult and that holding the council to ransom in this way was both a reasonable measure and a last resort. Please do publish the details as I don’t hold BHCC in particularly high regard either but this action feels wrong.

I don’t know what evidence you’ve got that we are being difficult or our members I think your find the ones that were being difficult with the council offices I would suggest you encourage them and counsellors to resolve it because they are the ones that can

Firstly we are not bullies secondly I’m not a bully we have tried to resolve this nine weeks before balloting our members council offices and council haven’t wanted to do that funny they do now let’s see what happens next week
