Had my first GPT-5 fail today. Was trying to pull together a report from raw data to mirror an existing report. Accidentally sent the prompt without the data attached expecting GPT-5 Thinking to notice i forgot the data and ask me for it. It just created a template with placeholders where the data should go. So I sent the data in the next prompt along with the report it should mirror. It timed out doing the task so I asked it again. Well, it did do the task, but it didn’t organize the data the way I wanted. It also added data from the raw logs that I hadn’t listed in the template should be included. I ended up scrapping the project and doing it by hand. This is just one of many examples of why I don’t believe the hype that all our jobs will be replaced by ai. Ai is an incredible tool, but whether intentionally constructed this way or unintentionally because the technology isn’t that advanced, it cannot do what a human can DO… Yet anyway.

I just learned that the VA dropped me as a patient for prenatal care. Everything was fine throughout my pregnancy until my 38-week appointment, when the clerk informed me that she could no longer find my VA insurance information. The next day, the VA called and explained that my OB-GYN is not part of their program. When I asked why they were only informing me now, they couldn’t provide an answer. This means that, with labor coming any day now, we will have to pay for the delivery entirely out of pocket. For my last baby, who is about to turn 6, the VA covered everything and it was with the same doctor as now. As a veteran, I knew the VA was awful, but this is a new low.
