Easy to detect because someone has to make way too many changes to avoid detection
1. Increase the TTL by one, the phone acts as the router when you use a hotspot.
2. Use a proxy app or similar tool on the phone to rebuild the packets using the mobile’s native stack.
3. Block all OS update requests to avoid detection.
4. Update the APN in case the OS has explicitly been instructed to split hotspot traffic.
5. The MTU is higher on laptops, so if the mobile network forces packet fragmentation, it gives it away.
6. Desktops open too many parallel connections compared to mobile, which can be detected
7. Launching any kind of desktop-specific app also gives it away
Not as easy like many people are stating it on the internet.
Game of cat and mouse, someone will come up with a tool that does all of it, and post it, carrier will outsmart it, and it will go on. Very similar to ad blockers.
