everyone wants the result. nobody wants the 9 years. ansem was at 1k followers in 2017. 5k by 2020. everyone sees the 1.1M followers and the $1.4M in creator fees now and thinks it happened overnight. it took a DECADE of showing up every single day before any of it paid off. i think about that a lot. its easy to look at where he's at and feel behind. but he was exactly where a lot of us are, for years, before anything clicked. don't take it as discouraging. take it as inspiration. this is the exact bet im making with https. longevity over virality. conviction over rotation. everyone in the trenches is optimizing for the next few hours while the only people who ever actually made it out optimized for years. a good meme never dies, and neither does a builder who refuses to leave. if you could be where ansem is in 9 years you'd take it in an instant. so study the people doing it right in front of you. or stay where you're at and learn every lesson the hard way. sometimes thats the only way anyway. we're early. keep building.
